@MrF1fanatic Hi there ! Yes, they do if you are going to do some track work etc, but I had no problems with stability even well into three figures. Cheers !
I am impressed! This car is so awesome. I just wonder.... is it street legal? What did you do when you finished your car? You drove it to the inspection center to make it legal? I live in Greece, you think it is possible for such a car to be legal here?
@lukofws Hi ! Yes, it is street legal. I used to take the kids to school and go shopping in it too ! The Factory sort out the SVA but yes, you can drive it there if you want to.
Greece would be a great place to have one of these ! Good luck and thanks for watching !
beautiful car pepperman. a weird question; do you ever have problems with the front bar bottoming out when going into parking lots or over speed bumps? i had an rx7 fd which was fairly low and i was bottoming out ALL the time even if i took speed bumps at an angle. how do you deal with it?
The ground clearnace is 4 inches, so should clear most bumps, but I have occasionally "bottomed out" over speedbumps. I go slowly just in case. Regards, Tony
i get the same feeling that US people dont like british people very well sometimes but i think its just stupid talk most of the time, hey the car has an american engine and is engineered and built in britain :)!!!!!!
Hey, I love the US - great country, friendly people and big engines :o) I've found taht most people from most countries are friendly if you give each other a little mutual respect. And car talk is a great leveller.
Yes, exhaust is all Ultima, nice fat 3 inch exhausts. I think that there is some silencing in there but just enough to get it through the registration test :o)
i've noticed than on most ultima gtr's, the gear shift is on the right somewhere around the door. but this seems to be in the middle. is this something you specifically wanted and was it hard to accomplish? also keen to know how much you spent in total on the car :)
Hi there ! The gearchange can be central or on the right (or left). The gear change rod on mine runs between the seats, through the rear bulkhead and then kinks around the engine. There are three rods covering the 5 foot or so between the gear lever and the back of the gearbox, with universal joints connecting them, so you can pick your way around anything solid like the engine. I preferred the centre change but most builders go the other route !
Hiya, thanks for your comments. The engine is a 7 litre V8 small block chevy engine built by american speed (see link on ultimasports web site). Power is 640+ bhp. It's not cheap to build but the quality of parts is A1. The Ultima team are there on the phone if you need them and the build manual is excellent. Most people take 300 to 500 hours to build these cars.
Will post a full vid inside and out when it passes the SVA test (before it can be allowed on UK roads).
Hey nice job on the car sounds and looks great! what engine do you have in there? what was ur build time? And is the car worht the time and money? Hope you have fun!

Dam sweet car. I have a question not to be offensive. Why would you have this car without a rear wing because you know its going to need one.

American Engine with British Chassis? Now why does that seem familiar...
And am I the only one who can see a bit of the Ferrari 330 P4 in the bodywork (from some angles, anyway).

My next GTR will be Ally block LS7. SBC was cheaper option with cash at a premium, but still gave awesome power.

An investment in the engine also just by itself
due to the level of performance and horsepower.
The engine by itself like they have it as far as horsepower and performance components will run anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000 in US money
but obviously less in British Pounds since
two us dollars is equal to one british pound.

You put that whole car together from pieces
basically. If you did that is ALOT of work if you
put it together yourself.I started with Shell
Valley Co. Cobra Replica and ended up with
with a rolling chassis.I had someone help me out some but theres more to do there then waht you think.

typo:waht should be what.

I ended up having them do ALL of the work.I figure if someone has the money to put in something like that then they can afford to pay
someone to build it.Especially the amount of money they want for those cars or what someone
will end up having in one.You would have $80,000.00 dollars in that car easily and maybe even more more. The spoiler that goes on
the back is $3500.00 just for that or more.

please tell me you're using an ALUMINIUM block! (LS2/LS7)
and WTF isnt it EFI??!!

Very nice! That's gotta feel great.
I LOVE this car, but I have to admit that if I had a windfall and were to acquire one, I would probably buy it built. I'm too impatient.
Hats off to you!
