Savatage is still around even though they haven't recorded a new album or played live in a few years. Remember that most of them are tied up fairly heavily with TSO.
This is the song I was singing at the top of my lungs while riding a bike under the stars eleven years ago.. and the police pulled me over! On a bicycle! The cop was so weirded out by my singing that she waited for her backup while I sat there. They had me do a field sobriety test and let me go. It was such a weird experience.
Oi Felipe! Olha, o começo é fundamental para entender essa música, pois ele não quer dizer que a pessoa recebeu uma carta de alguém, mas que a pessoa relembrou um sentimento antigo dela mesma (simbolizado pela carta velha e amarrotada).

@jillpoo3 Yes. But, Jon's been busy with his band and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is so huge that they just don't have the time to go back right now, but Chris Caffery has said in interviews that Savatage is definitely *NOT* done and absolutely will be back. When remains a mystery, but I know I'm anxious awaiting their return!
@rafael060 Ya know Savatage is one of my 2 top favorite bands but I gotta tell you, I dig some rap too...Eminem, 50 cent, Ludicris, It's a totally different style and has its value too. No need to compare bands of completely different genres. Fans of those artist probably feel the same way about metal. Neither side is right. It's all subjective. There needs to be tons of different styles to satisfy all the different tastes in the world. Remember..if everyone agrees, someone's not thinking.
@rafael060 Really Savatage was over the night Criss died. His brother came back and worked good stuff with the remaining members for years afterwards, but it was never the same for us (the fans) or for the band members. Criss was an axe wizard, and although others may be able to play his stuff, no one will ever write the guitar the way he did again.

@rafael060 but its not all over! the tran-siberian orchestra is the like savatage revival. i think the members of savatage make up a small portion of the TSO.
@rafael060 Because no one deserves this inspiring genuine music these days
People just appreciate the beat of g-strings, drugs and dirt
Take Metallica as an example I wished that this band was over right after S&M because they screwed up and they had followed the same nonsense
We are still living the past… the days of Savatage Black Sabbath the real METALLICA and many more immortal names and I wished that I had lived at least the 80's rock decade
@Ieatpaste23 Don`t forget John Oliva`s Pain! Saw them live a couple of times and John always plays a couple of Savatage songs. (Believe and Hall of the mountain king for example..)
This was Criss Oliva's last album before he died. Jon played the piano and wrote/co-wrote all the songs but didn't sing, the singer on this album is Zachary Stevens,
Wonderful song. I prefer the version with Jon Oliva on vocals (it was a bonus track on a 1997 "Gutter Ballet" re-release, if I remember correct), but this one is breathtaking too. One of the bands that never got the attention they deserved. Other great example is Testament. Always close to making it really big, but never really doing it. Very sad
I really don't like the version with Jon on vocals, this one to me is perfect!(Don't get me wrong I love Jon's vocals but Zak's vocals have a very warm touch, that pulls at your heartstrings)
Nah, I'm not trying to start anything. I just think the situation is funny: X Japan's "Endless Rain" (1989) seem to have taken Bob Segar's "We've Got Tonight" (1978), which was then taken by this band in 1993! (laugh) Wonder which one they were inspired by?
