Black metal is a type of music, not an ideology. As a Christian, I prefer Christian messages in my music, but as long as the band I'm listening to isn't saying that Christians should be slaughtered or that Christ deserved to be crucified, then their ideology doesn't matter.

I find it hilarious that the overall sound and imagery of this sound kicks more ass than many of those so called "evil" black metal bands.
And I am not christian.Infact I got my problems with organized religion.Christ was a cool guy but many of his followers 300 years later decided to bastardize his message and absorb in many pagan practices to create a religion to control people.Read up on the Council of Nicea.Christ himself was never interested in creating religion.He had a simple message. =)

A genre is classified based on instrumentals, harmonies and other technical factors such as pace, the measurement of melodies and rhythms, etc, etc. Lyrics and content don't categorize a genre, if it did: Anything promoting secularism could be categorized as "rock," and in ALL genre's that is done!
