@morningPMshow google dude, not trying to be a dick but the only way i found out about my state was like 10 hours of google, but trust me you would not want to let them run around in your yard at least without being tied up, fennecs are incredible diggers, and can get out of just about any harness you have, and if they escape, theres a 90% chance you wont see it again, i put a full body harness on mine (in the house) and it got out of the harness in like 2 seconds...imagine if he were outside

if these foxes are closer to being wild than other domestic pets, would it be difficult for the mother to be separated from her babies before they have grown up? she was smelling them to make sure they were all there.

you have to check if your state even allows fennec foxes, and you have to get a permit first, and check to make sure there is a vet near you that will treat one and knows what he/she is doing. After you can contact some breeding sites. I warn you though they are expensive. they can be anywhere up to $20,000

Before Oregon outlawed them, the pet store i worked at sold them for $2,000. Just depends who you find for a breeder.

I heard that these are endangered, maybe someone who has the rights to do so should start a breeding program to both release into the wild and also to sell as pets, because if they are sold as pets and become popular they would never be truly extinct. Of course, it would be better if they weren't endangered in the first place.

Yeah i have heard they are becoming endangered. That is a good idea but unfortunately you would not be able to send the foxes back into the wild if you were to breed them because hey would be under human care and would not last long in the wild, plainly because they are used to being cared for rather then fending for their own. But yes they would never truly be extinct if they became popular pets.
