What a marvelously intriguing little bit of history! This makes me want to go back to England. I was only able to visit Oxford and Wales during my time there, but they sufficiently whetted my appetite to go back someday and this is simply all the more reason! :)
I absolutely loved this! I was enjoying it so much (whilst wearing head phones) at my Mom's house that my mom called to me, "honey what are you watching, you are smiling so much it looks like you are really enjoying it" I went on to explain that we are friends and both addicted to Geocaching and that I was watching you guys and loving it.
Oh, I especially liked the gate one on the chain! Old train depots - there's one down the road from me. I sometimes imagine a 'dream home' with it when I walk past. :)
3w.kenwooddepot.c o m/aboutthedepot.h t m Twish - Here is our local old railroad depot in Kenwood, California - right in the middle of Sonoma Valley Wine Country - in Jack London's Valley of the Moon! This place is only 20 minutes from my home in Bennett Valley! Also - I used to be the Depot's handyman!! They rent it out for parties and lectures! My grandparents used to live less than 1/4 mile away!
@twish1999 Yes - you're right! With my handyman business I'm in the area regularly - I just get busy! I want to start regular video of the areas where I work here in Sonoma Valley - it's really quite beautiful! Maybe I'll start another channel like: A Handyman's Tale (reminiscent of "A Handmaid's Tale!") cute huh? Are you familiar with Jack London? Many people in Europe are! Thank you for your adventurous vids! Your countryside is not unlike ours!
What a wonderful video Trish with the geocaching and the train station! I call the boots you have on barn boots because that is what we wore when we went into the barn as children. You found some really terrific caches!
Trish I love the phrase " it's a bit fresh ".. Never heard that before.. Why are there steps built iinto the gate ? Love the train station ...1952, I was only 3 years old and you weren't even born yet..
Those steps are built into the fence so we can climb over it, it's called a style. We have thousands of miles of public footpaths here in England so people can enjoy the countryside. Much of the land is now privately owned so the footpaths give us a right of way over their land
Hey Twish ! I'm wondering if you've heard of Munzee? It's fairly new I believe and I just signed up at Munzee dot com. You scan QR barcodes with your smartphone versus signing a log book. It's a deviation of geocaching and I'm going to give it a try...just thought I'd mention in case you hadn't heard of it.
I have heard of it but i have no idea what it is, i have seen some of those scannable barcodes in cache's so i think i will read up on it and give it a go. Thanks!
I sure have missed all your geocaching videos whilst you've been ill! Always fun to watch and see what people have come up for hiding places etc. Thanks for sharing Trish! Have a great weekend ~ Ryan x
Other geocachers put the stuff there and you find it by using either a GPS or an app on your iphone or android called geocaching, wherever you are you just ask the app to find geocaches in that area (they are all over the world) and it will literally point you to it.... it's very addictive and fun!
Willaston, Wirral Peninsula , i knew you was from north west due to the voice,, train station says it all

I've never heard the term barn boots but it makes sense... we call them wellies, short for wellington boots, named after the duke of wellington
