  • can you PLSSSS tell us what paints you're using? I'd like the name of the company and the type, pls pls pls respond

  • What paint did you actually use. I have been using latex base with a mixture of water to add a liquid effect. But what you are using seems more authentic!

  • totally more drawn out than mine

  • ahahah. This will never be art. This is just pedant people trying to be important. Some say that art is relative and that people attribute the value that they want to the object. This means that a blank canvas can be art if the person decides so. Anyway, the only thing that impresses me, is the representation of reality. This is where you can display talent. Stuff like Pollock is a con. Anyone can do it, I would do it. A meaningless mess of paint and, then, i would listen to intellectuals talk.

  • Omg.....you talk exactly like Adam Sandler at the begnning there....! :)

  • jackson pollock is amazing one of the greatest painters of all time

  • @TheEdgarvarese12 PLEASE explain the fascination,I don't understand it.

  • @kingmanted it's very dificult to explain, but his lines are very rythmical, and his colors very beatiful. there's nothing so dificult about abstract art you just have get the emotion that is in any particular work. the abstract paintings are bunch of moods, it is just that the form are unrecognizable. it's all relative. impressionism is more abstract than renasaince painting and jackson pollock is more abstract than impressionism. and also colors influence human emotions.

  • @TheEdgarvarese12 So its really not complex at all then, pretty primitive then...Not that hats a bad thing at all. I like them,i just never understood the big hype about his stuff. thanks for the response =)

  • @kingmanted those people who say his art or any avant-garde art is dificult are usually people who want to brag about how they understand this "dificult art". actually avant-garde art is easier than any old western art, they don't require lot of technique, it's more free and individualistic that's why i like modern art

  • Those who try to immitate Pollack, do so by throwing paint randomly at a canvas, this is not what Pollack did, he expressed emotion intentionally with paint on canvas... you can see it when he paints. And this is where people don't understand Pollack. Because most people do not express their emotion through their actions, they are controlled by their emotion through their actions, and if you don't understand the difference, you will never understand Pollack.

  • I think that perhaps some white and a dark green could bring this piece to a new life! Good attempt, Pollock and his drips are more complex than they look. In my study, and practice, of pollock's work, it is white, or another lighter colour that can often bring a picture to life. -- Just a thought... Thank you for sharing this with everyone though!

  • Great job with this video! It is obvious that you have an appreciation for Jackson Pollock and the subtleties of his technique. Thank you for sharing this with everyone.

oh, and the Moby music was a nice touch

  • Yes, you can try to painting like Pollock, but your painting and his paintings are completly different at the end of your action. So I think not to easy to paint like him.

  • Comment removed

  • Pollock talked about how he often "lost" a painting, I think thats what might have happened with this attempt, the end product seemed static and cluttered, opposite to pollocks greats, it illustrates the skill the man had...good effort though and it looked fun!

  • Nice! What Kind of paint did you use?

  • Nice! What Kind of paint did you use?

  • Nice video, what kind of paint are you using? I'd like to try this, looks like fun.

  • haha everyones gonna post some comment about how your no jackson pollock but the truth is it was a simple idea and most simple ideas are brilliant because they are simple.. this work of art looks great.. to be like a pollock painting i think it could use a little more contrast between dark and light colours but regardless id say you hit the nail on the head,. good job man! :)

  • Bleah!!!

  • bleahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You look and sound like you belong in a boyband. Leave pollock to Ed Harris.

    Nice try though.

  • did you prime the canvas with anything first or did you just paint straight on the canvas?

  • are that photographs of your works, what you show at the beginning of your video?

    it looks very amazing

  • no, they're by Jackson Pollock

  • love the music, also the art,

  • Did Pollock ever touch the canvas with the brush?

  • yes, more so in earlier works but i assume you are referring to his 'drip paintings' in which it was a relatively rare occurrence. Contact between surface and fingers was more common.

  • nice work, keep it up!

  • that was cool man i wish i knew how to do that shit.... Good Job

  • you can do that. that's the beauty of Art. you can't paint like Jackson Pollock though, you can only paint like yourself. You can reproduce a Monet but it'll still be your painting.

  • and mr poser, you did know how pollock painted. but, did you konw why painted that way?

  • The real question is why YOU paint that way.

  • bad copy of adam sandler xD

  • i was just thinking that lol.

  • I'm not posing. I studied Pollock and his methods and thought it would be fun to try.

  • @flingshotmonkey and you did nice job :)

  • @flingshotmonkey Honestly, this is one of the BEST "Pollock technique" examples I've seen on youtube thus far. You have such fluidity with your motions and you let the paint speak for you on the canvas. It's intentional yet still holds that free movement the way Jackson painted. The finished product was very VERY good I must say. Don't pay attention to these people who don't understand. Pollock didn't lol :)

  • @javitoheroina "Art is a direct reflection of the spectator" - Oscar Wilde

  • @javitoheroina ever notice that people who use the word poser are the douchey-est of all?

  • your increbible !!! I wish i could paint like that.... where did you learn to paint like this ?

  • i dont mean any insult by this but omfg if adam sandler had a chubbier look it would be you! you remind me so much of him lol i think its ur voice at times

  • That's great stuff, makes me want to paint! With the music it's really inspiring for some reason

  • Thanks. You can do something like this rather cheaply, just a few buckets of paint, sticks and an old bed sheet. Have fun!

  • what colours did u use again? maroon..black..

  • thanks, sry it's a week getting back to you. I just went to my local Home Depot and selected colors from the cards to have them mix for me. I used a sea-green, nightblue, and a red-orange all with an egg-shell finish instead of satin

  • holy shit ur awesome..

  • is there a certain paint that you should use for this?

  • yes. Pollock used fludid paints favoring latex based paints over oil. in this video I used indoor house paint.

  • the painting misses

  • thats beautiful

    great great GREAT job

    pollock would be proud

  • thanks boohoo ;-)
