Doll starts with the line 'I've never been so scared', and it ends with the 'I'm not scared' coda. so this record is about life, and how now matter what pain you go through you'll make it through and you have nothing to fear. grohl's masterpiece.

Dave Grohl is referencing his time in Seattle when he was with Nirvana. Seattle is a port city, hence the reference to the boats, and the Kingdome was the old dome that the Mariners and Seahawks used to play in.
