If I'm not mistaken, this is from 'The Deep End' DVD, filmed in New Orleans. I haven't watched this DVD in quite a while, and I agree... it IS Perfection!!! :)
the first 2 notes of the solo. Those two bends are the greatest thing I've ever heard. The whole solo is amazing but those first 3 seconds are orgasmic
A great performance, by any standards. Remember people--EVERYTHING and everyone's performance came together perfectly here. Warren was the driving wheel, all the other players rose to the occasion. A fabulous performance by all involved, not a note out of place and how many times can you say that?
Chalk me up too!!! Been going to shows and buying LPs since I was 12..then, Reel to Reel, Nakamichi Casstte Recorders, CD, DVD and youtube...I still drift buy and listen to the diff live versions that are here..Always moves me and every version is not the same...Just pure damn greatness...Cranked the Allmans Bros and The DEAD who I have always met with distain up their dead in the water games 10000%...The Allmans are must with Warren...Don't miss Drunk Betts..Still miss Duane...Cajun Out!!!!

@brathx he's singing, so after the short solo and he starts singing again, he goes back to the treble PUP, so he doesnt need to turn the volume up while singing.
In this song Warren plays less guitar which adds a beautiful feeling as wonderful sounds floated in the wind. And this is the main reason why this song is so amazing. ( I hate this guy for it ;] )
does anyone else think that when warren was about 4 or 5 he picked up a guitar & said "yep, you're gonna be my bitch from now on. you will do anything & everything i can imagine"
This song was obviously written after following me around as a younger man as it describes most of my girlfriends from the time I was 16 until I met my wife when I 28. Just kidding, but it is a truly great song from a great band
My 1st show was a private concert on a small farm in Nashville, Ga. for a friend's bday. Seems like a lifetime ago, early 90's. So lucky to have been there. It was a fantastic night!!
Nothing like standing right in front of this band, so close you can reach out and touch them, while Warren rips. Miss Woody, big man, big bass sound. Matt keeping time.
people these days have no soul man ..............20 fuckin years the guy moves me every time i hear him........he is comparable to bb king and better........hes just not old enuff yet....
Great Song Great Band Enuff Said ! I work for a major airline and I had the pleasure to load Warren's equipment on my aircraft when they went to play TLV a few months ago. Keep rocking guys !
For those that aren't fans of Warren Haynes or Govt. Mule, you should get to Asheville,NC and check out the concert he puts on every christmas ...all proceeds going to charity. It is a jamfest who's who for the southeast and always an explosion of music!
@robmacdaddy....yeah everyone has got their own opinion, so here's mine about you, and that solo.
I heard the same licks throughout the whole solo, which says one thing...he's not experimenting or offering much of anything. When you listen to hendrix, trey, srv...the greats; you get a feeling like you've been enlightened. I felt stupider after listening to that solo. You're good Warren, but your not THAT good brotha.
You know what. Warren and Trey have a great musical relationship. You can see it when they sit in with one another. If they can have a mutual respect for each others style, why can't you?
@FenderX91 indeed everyone's got their own opinions but Trey is pretty guilty of playing the same bag of licks as well. Let me also add that I'm a Phish fan but Trey is not "one of the greats" in the same sentence as SRV and Jimi nor is he even close.Trey often noodles mindlessly for 25-30 bars before playing anything of substance, if you give me 7 minutes to solo over a simple progression I pull a tasty lick out of my ass too that doesn't make me a great.
