inklinkinklink: Thank you very much. That thing at 3:02 is a blending stick. It's like pressed paper. It smudges the pencil to make smooth blends. Tightly rolled paper like a cone will do it too.

DelisaProductions: Thank you very much! Yes, I make high-resolution scans of them and send the copies. My first batch got sent back to me, I didn't have enough postage, so this weekend I am just going to set up a page for people to download the scans, and they can print to whatever size they wish. Because they are high-res, the copies seem to look better than the original.

Dude! thats awsome! really interesting as well to see how you go about it. I've enver thought about working from the bottom up before while doing a portrait. I'm gonna have to give that a go. Whata re you using there? putty rubber for the smudging?

effects69: Well, I actually lightly sketch out the entire frame of everything first, then I fill in everything but the face, the everything but the eyes and mouth. But I just do that for the sake of amking the video interesting. The putty you see is a kneaded eraser. I use smudging sticks, or just rolled up paper if I'm desperate, for a smooth blend.
