Home gardening will provide humanity with more dietary variety & healthier food, too. And most people will take pride in their homes, when they are allowed to build them to their own specifications & will not live in fear of losing them. The govt brainwashes us into thinking that we commoners are a bunch of idiots who couldn't function w/o all their ridiculous (costly) 'rules'. The vast majority of legislation is intended to make the elite wealthier, not for the benefit of humanity. Reform them.
I would like to point out too, that people who are not spending all their time slaving for nothing, will have time to work in their *own, individual gardens*, providing themselves with local, fresh produce (the surplus of which, they may then barter or trade with their neighbors; & the byproducts make great compost for natural fertilizer). Also, w/o the oppressive building codes that we have, people will be able to make their shelters more environmentally & economically practical.
@sonofmyfather12 No, this is very much not the case. There is no government in the supposed resource based economy. Socialism, along with capitalism, communism and the free enterprise system, still include the monetary system, in which the driving forces are the same: Money, Labour and Competition. The proposed society is far more universally collaborative and no one is sub-serviant to anyone else. I strongly recommend watching zeitgeist addendum for further explanation and understanding.
thats a trick and ur really dumb. that really is the stupidest thing i heard today, granted its only 8 oclock. i wont watch that movie or any other derivatives. oh and remember to not take any wooden nickles
@sonofmyfather12 What exactly is a trick? And what exactly is stupid? The concept of a resource based economy? Why would you not watch something which will give you a better understanding of the concepts being promoted by Peter Joseph and the zeitgeist movement? Having a deliberately closed mind to new helpful information like this will only result in negatively effecting you when you could enrich your knowledge and argument with this info.
Dave van kleist and Peter Joseph, some of the clearest minds, great artists and high spirits. What a sick world where those brave leaders are forced to work from the underground and are facing deadly threats instead of being celebrated as creative and philosophical engines of our communities. We must give them the chance to prove they are spot on. Babylon must fall quickly!!
it all looks good on paper...but so did communism. there would still have to be someone in charge running the show ie distributing, manufacturing, and even educating. who puts who in charge of what and why?
True. Capitalism is the system that 'naturally' emerges when individuals are free from coercion and no design or model is applied to society. Surely, we have yet to allow this system to fully emerge by limiting governmental power to preventing coercion and protecting property, but we certainly should try it.
No one will be in charge of anything. There will be teams of individuals who help further ideas though. They will be the people who come up with the ideas. Watch the Zeitgeist Orientation to get more information on this.
No one will be in charge, because all humans have the right to be free and do whatever they choose. We don't need babysitters to tell us what to do and punish us when we mess up. If people want to improve society (which they w ill), they'll research a problem and work together to find the best solution.
It's about interdependence. And working with the Earth.
Peter Joseph is much more eloquent than I, so I'd recommend watching the Zeitgeist Orientation to receive more information.
Ppl knock communism but what they dont realise is communism in the literal sense never existed. Russia and other supposedly communist nations were and are in fact tyrannical dictatorships.
Yeah democracy looks good on paper as well how is that going for you?
To suggest that the Venus Project and a moneyless society is communism is non sense. And for someone to think that anyone who advocates living in a moneyless society is crazy. We're not exactly living in very rational times today.
We're not. but imagine the sort of system that would emerge following the abolition of the monetary system. Such abolition would require a central power to produce and distribute; power would run the system even more so than it does today.
With all do respect to you. But I think you're just making assumptions. Fact of the matter is, it's never been done before. And until it's done, we can only come to our own conclusions on what will happen if we did get rid of the monetary system. But I understand where you're coming from. People like you are afraid of change. Even if the change can potentially benefit humanity as a whole.
Limiting the coercive power of government to preventing coercion and protecting property is the change I'm interested in seeing. I'm not afraid of change; I'm skeptical of collectivism (at all levels.)
I think you're missing the point. Getting rid of the monetary system would actually decrease the corruption & limit what you call "coercive power" of any governmental body. Our value system would change dramatically as well if we got rid of this outmoded system. Which essentially it is. In my opinion. And I believe also if we had the balls to get rid of this fraudulent system, the quality of life for people in general would improve dramatically.
Removing the government's hand from monetary policy would eliminate the corruption you're referring to. The questions you should pander are: Who will be instrumental in abolishing the monetary system? Who will direct the technological revolution necessary to replace the system? Who will produce and distribute resources and how will the demand for specific resources be calculated? How will all this be conducted?
Once enough people are accepting of this social system, the monetary system will fail on its own. There will be revolving interdisiplinary teams that will implement the technological design.
Watch the orientation presentation (entirely) to answer your questions. It will really help.
You're still missing the point. Like capitalism. Communism, fascism, socialism, and all these other "isms" required one constant. MONEY for Christ's sakes. Take money out of the equation, you wouldn't have coercion of power, scarcity, and corruption being rewarded. Let me ask you this. Are a you a registered Libertarian? You certainly talk like one.
I'm not missing the point; sure, all of these ideologies hold money constant, but that doesn't necessarily deem money as the culprit. There are many other things held constant by all political systems. I would like to see how you answer the listed questions because, money or not, they're essential questions to consider.

I'm a tech and I can tell you that technicians get little respect unless you need something fixed. Even then, when something is beyond repair the owner usually doesn't understand and calls you an idiot.
But you are 100% correct that politicians are worthless.
Get Active, Get Energized and make the Venus Project your reality.
The videos PJ has created perfectly demonstrate how and why money breeds corruption. ANY form of monetary reform would NOT help and in fact will NOT happen and the reason should really be obvious for everyone in the world. I mean we are living in a "frozen" established world. No chance you are going to see that reform. It is anyway about to crash. These questions are for PJ and JF. The videos don't talk about these. But they will certainly answer any questions.

and i hope we can see that these people don't want change but are too fearful of the idea that our gov. is set up to control us and works in the interest of self preservation and not in the best interest of the people and hasn't been for sometime
also : A question asked near the end of this particular clip is "why Venus when we live on Earth" - it's a question of little relevance but i can't remember it being answered in the next vid.....
i BELIEVE (not certain) it is referred to as the 'venus' project because of its foundation being centred in an area called Venus - in America.
could be wrong just thought i'd throw that out there

I screened Zeitgeist on projector to around 10 people. The reaction was great, most of them just heard the information for the first time.

Read "The Best That Money Can't Buy" by Jacque Fresco. He explains very cleary how corruption and power mongering is impossible in this system.

Did I get this right? Does Peter earn his money by his work with this commercial stuff?
I don't have anything against him doing that, whatsoever, just need to know :)

I think he makes a living working in commercial editing in NY, but these films were his own creation.
He mentioned this in another interview I believe. Hope that helps! :)
