  • Really interesting what you have done here. Is it meant to be metaphorical?

  • It's just you climbing a hill as if it's deep because you are getting over an obstacle in sepia.

  • What a beautiful hill...

  • So simplistic yet so moving. Great video

  • @FesteringHeadsFilm your a fag

  • @vancityvandals Actually I'm just bike-curious

  • @NaRcOlePtIcLeMur

Now, now. Let's not be pedantic. And wrong.

  • The way it showed your hands before the rest of the movie almost made me think the crawling backwards up the hill was a sort of punishment. Maybe even a test. In any sense, I thought of it as putting yourself through something difficult, uncomfortable, as a punishment or way of atonement. That's just what I thought of it, with the music as a background.

  • cool background good theme for it

  • samara?

  • Uh..haha.. good work out..

  • Donnie was the living manipulated meaning he was the one that needed to fix things in the TU (tangent universe) The artifact is the jet engine wich needed to be placed at a certian place our universe to be more specific, Donnie's bed room with him in the bed. Frank, the manipulated dead, was the one in charge of guiding Donnie to save the universe by sadly killing himself with the jet engine (forgive my grammer DX)

  • boobeckett, you should play her the backing up song!

  • I am addicted to this.

  • thumbs up if that reminded you of Zelda's twilight world.

  • Proof that music definitely creates the mood. Who woulda thought crawling up a hill could be creepy... Or maybe even beautiful.

  • i like it, it's very surrealist

  • I have been searching for this piece of music for years!

  • Very odd but I like the inspirational influence in this so no hate against this upload

  • looks kind of like a green screen production...like youre not entirely there, like you put your recorded motion onto a background...only because the lighting effects aren't consistent

  • I love the movie Donnie Darko. It's one of my favorites.

  • How did u change the colors like that?

  • nothings better than seeing this ninja climb a hill like a cat *___* pure entertainment -.-

  • WITCH!

  • this is how I go up a hill .. i dunoo about you guys

  • you is one creepy ass motha fuckaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Orson, the mona lisa is just a painting of a woman, and yet look at how coveted it is. Art doesnt need to be spectacular or expensive in order to be art. It is original, how many videos havr you seen of a man climbing a hill backwards?

  • what a creepy video

  • "7 days..." a voice says. "7 DAYS UNTIL WHAT??!?!" I reply...loudly

  • great video but now im expecting to hear my phone ring, where a sinister voice says '7 days' before hanging up

  • It's great

  • If you didn't already tell us what you were doing in the video, this video would be very creepy. In a good way.

  • This once again shows me how simple seemingly weird things can be turnt into something beautiful. Beautiful video, beautiful music.

  • amazing, beautiful way of meditation.

  • thats so cool

  • sorry buddy, i get what your at, but id rather jog and push weights! just me, altho im a donnie darko lover

  • ? creepy....love it!

  • wierd, very creative... if you try and imagine hes crawling head first it looks like a retarded bear or something lol

    5/5

  • With a weird lump on his back, yes .. But I like this quite much.

  • This reminds me of those dreams I have that make absolutely no sense. well done. You kept it simple, yet eerie.

  • You are a genious.

  • For the personal challenge of it.

  • can you tell me the name of the music?

  • Shut up

  • the artifact and living by michael andrews

  • The song is called, "The Artifact And The Living" from the film "Donnie Darko." It's probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. :)

  • @eightyeightdays yeah, if you are attention seeking or backward?

It isnt art. remove the (very good music) and its a man going backwards up a hill.

Why would you video this? its not even hard.

  • @eightyeightdays so good!

  • this is oficial videoclip ¿?

    wow is fantastic

    really cool

  • It's not a official videoclip. It's homemade. Read description.

  • cat crawl? dude ur funny and mad :-)

  • lovely video. very touching

  • Hello...I love this song and Donnie Darko's film in very, very good!!

But..can you tell me a title of this song?

  • If I'm not mistaken it's called The Artifact And Living.

  • Complete name of this song is:

Michael Andrews - The Artifact And Living

  • thanks for this video dude its inspired me for one of my modules in University we have to do dance for camera, and this would look great in one of the scenes i had in mind

this video is amazing did you film in sepia?

  • I have the original footage in colour.

I went back to this hill at the weekend and I'm surprised I made it as far as I did in the video. It made me want to try again and go all the way next time.

  • bravo

  • This music always makes me cry.

  • Good idea for a strange video to suit a strange song. The video kinda reminded me of The Ring aswell.

  • Do you know the name of that hill or the name of the area where it is located? We definitely need to meet and train some time!

  • The hill is at Paloheinä which is in the northern part of Helsingin Keskuspuisto. Lots of hills and trees as you can imagine.

  • @eightyeightdays Haa, olet suomalainen tyyppi? :D

  • Wow bro, ur vids are just AWESOME! Good exercise! And good spot to do it haha, good luck with ur training man...

    ATT: MAHS

  • sick man :D good to see your still training hard. hope gym is going well too

  • wow, that's a tough way to start out quadropoly (slang & I don't know the spelling) ... I've herd it called leopard crawling too which probably gives you a better idea of the technique.

It's a great warmup and conditioning tool. Try mixing it up with some forward, diagonal, sideways and rolling motions to really get the blood going and hit many different muscle groups (the same principle could be applied to a warm-up jog too)

    =D

  • As a side note this climb wasn't meant so much as a physical challenge, but more as a challenge to the boundaries of comfort and routine. I would rather train movements that I will use in practice, than condition like that. Whatever you repeatedly do will become easy, so I feel it is more beneficial to practice movement in all areas than stick to any fixed kind of body conditioning.

  • "I feel it is more beneficial to practice movement in all areas than stick to any fixed kind of body conditioning" very true. Quadropoly IS an excellent full body warmup/exercise. It and complements tree climbing very well.

  • beautiful video.

oh and power to you on the conditioning front, looking good. :)

  • mmmmmmm i like!

  • How did you find it? Doing the exercise I mean.

  • It was tough, and the first time round I didn't pace myself at all so I only made it maybe a third of the way up. The ground was very slippery and I kept wanting to look back to see how far there was to go. I felt quite dizzy in the end which is why I didn't try to go further. I find that I get hot faster and out of breath quicker training in these cold conditions. It was a good test.
