All I have to say is that Coppell, TX sucks SO much that even the mayor doesn't want to live in it anymore. I can say this because I have lived here my whole life. It used to be a great place to live, but now it is full of drugs, teen drug overdoses, and suicides. DO NOT MOVE HERE!

I heard on the radio that even their Church Pastors did'nt see the writing on the wall and they were shocked themselves. I don't know what Church they went to, but it seems to me that they had religion, not relation with GOD. This lady was in Church but the Church was not in her or she would have never made this sad and unffortunate decision. We all need to pray to God for deliverence and start being more observent of the people that surround us. Only JESUS CHRIST could have intervened.

These are the warning signs of the falling of America. People are loosing everything. This women lost her husband and couldn't cope with loosing her status. Many middle and upper middle class people even in high positions or high paying jobs are loosing it all. This is just the start of the greatest depression this country will ever go through. The signs are bright as day but still so many Americans are turning a blind eye. The next 10 years are going to be a rough ride.

You contemplating suicide have you ever ridden a bike across the country. Have you ever seen the grand canyon, ever walk up to a perfect stranger start to talk to them listen to their problems and offer solutions or ask for yours? Try this study ultra light back packing and try to live the life of a minimalists sleep in a hammock go places with your bike feed animals on the way catch some fish get drunk with people on the way smoke some herb with them beats the certianty of instant death.

She was about to be forclosed on she had questionable business dealings with her job. Suicides happen that way they tend to trigger others to drop out. It is near impossible to understand these events what she was thinking prior to commiting this act. I have experienced failure and she may have never in her 55 years had a failing some don't know how to handle failure.There are so many things to do like just walk away liquidate all you can to get some running $ and see where the next few days go.

How sad ... but the mayor is a product of her culture, one which equates value with economic worth. She was on the verge of foreclosure from what I've read & preferred a bullet to the brain rather than homelessness. Too bad she had to take her daughter w/her.

She pretty much felt hopeless & unhappy with constant money troubles and she gave up hoping. She also might have felt that her daughter wouldn't have a good life without her and didn't want her to hate her mother for killing herself alone. I wonder if she was a Christian.

This world is very scary! This is happening everywhere (Allen Myron, the Pierce County deputy who fatally shot his wife's parents before turning the gun on himself during a domestic violence incident, was campaigning for tougher programs to help prevent just such tragedies)

Why are people saying all of these good things about her now? Things such as "she had such a huge heart." I know something was wrong in her head but her actions of killing her daughter should not result in positive quotes. Just something to think about...

@backstroker812 I agree completely.Everyone seems to have 'mommy guilt' but if it were the Dad they'd have torches & pitchforks out.I'm a father of 4 & can't imagine harming one of my children in anyway.They should quit making excuses for inhuman selfish monster behavior. I feel so badly for the daughter and only venom for the Mother. Remember how sorry people felt for the woman near Dallas (ironically) that drowned her 5 kids? OMG, I was angry!! How do your raise a child for 19 yrs & kill her?

the guards at the concentration camps in wartime were ordinary people just like you and me so who really can understand and reason with the mind of the individual in a particular situation

@sweetypie000 Yeah, maybe I'm too quick to judge but it just angers me that someone would kill their child. My best friend in High School killed himself over a girlfriend jilting him, another friend of mine was found dead in his bathroom a few years ago, a co-worker shot himself (dead) in front of his children/wife last year, and my father-in-law (more like my real dad) hung himself in his garage back in 2002. Believe me, I've had my share. I just can't see taking someone out with you.

I live clear across the country, Massachusetts......this is really shocking. It's like what me and a pal would discuss at work sometimes....."you never know whats going through someones mind"......whats going on in someones life. My guess is that she had some issue (arguement) with the daughter and just snapped and shot her.....then realizing what she had done....shot herself

@MsLalalala33 They were both so beautiful so sad it really hurts to see things like this happen. Please watch your friends so this doesn't happen to any more go to counciling if not for you for them. Some see this as an affirmation that it isn't so wrong to stop the pain what they fail to see is the joy they give others by being there when it counts and we all count to someone. I have had anger toward others that they deserved it but I never harmed them they are somebodys mother brother etc.

theres no doubt that the ease at which handguns are obtained and accessible has contributed to suicides actually taking place. Pulling the trigger is much quicker than choking on a rope. No gun = less suicides

suicide should be an individuals choice and primarily they ought to be able to do it quickly and painlessly - afterall, if they are suffering in life then why make them have to suffer even more to end it ? but who knows why she killed her daughter too, maybe it was an agreed pact

In the USA.....1.3 million babies are killed (aborted each year), 400,000 die from bad diet, 200,000 medical mal practice, 90,000 alcohol related deaths......if 17000 have to die by guns per year so be it, it's the price of freedom. Freedom always comes with a price

the world can't sustain unwanted children. if every creature that procreates had additions the world would be too full. because we are human we feel too superior and forget we are children of nature and no different from the birds and the bees as entitys.

@sweetypie000 actually there is already too much compromise on gun owners rights in the usa. Hundreds of laws on the books.... the laws concerning owning a fire arm in the usa are more restrictive with every year
