May I ask, I truely believe in the lord, and declare myself a Christian, however, I believe Jesus to be the only SON of God, Not God himself, am I still a Christian? (P.S, I'm not a catholic, I read not to build statues out of stone and to worship them (not an exact qoute, from my memory) and of course Catholics have statues of Mary etc.

The Bible is the Bible. Either you belive it's God word and belive all of it, and obey what he commands. Or you believe something different. The truth is God wrote that book, it's his word. And part of obeying God means believing in the Trinity (ie. Jesus=God=Holy Spirit). It's complicated and I myself have a hard time beliveing but if you read his word he'll wipe away any doubts.
