Lewis is a good actor when he did Jack the Ripper in 1988 I thought that would be his big TV break again and lead to other roles even taking into consideration his directing he should be on our screens more!
hi. im ex 4 para / raf regt. just read your comment. assuming what you say is right can you confirm lewis was ex para reg (4 para) and he done his bit with ta sas (iv been told he passed. good effort . and yes btw with many of the lads - we loved the proffessionals and WDW's. thanks for time.
For some reason he would have been the best bond after the connery, he is a weird hybrid of all the bonds inc craig when you look at him on this interview hes even got moores raised eyebrows love this guy such a shame he never got the op to play bond.
Well, Lewis turned down a recent offer from Stuart to do a tour which was a real shame, Nicky & Stuart keep in touch & moot the idea so don't give up hope. Nicky has also got the 7 Golden Dafodills vid which they made for a video juke box
but the format is too cumbersome to put on the net so hopefully he may transpose it onto another format where he can make a lot of people happy by putting it on u-tube.
Ah, that's a shame really, for us anyway and the Mojo fans, of course. Seems he's quite comfortable and happy the way he lives now and I really grant him that.
But it would be nice to see him somehow, whether on TV, stage or playing a Mojo gig ;)
Btw, If Nicky got a digitize file, there are many ways to resize it, so he should give it a try.
Yeh, Patrick had a long run on tv as Danger Man, a British spy, a great pre-cursor/ aprentiship for the Bond role. He turned down the Bond offer because his deep religious believes re sanctity of life
conflicted with Bonds' casual 'indifference to life' Patrick thought a man should use his brain & power of talking to overcome conflict. You are spot on about Lewis, his Bodie character had the double rough smooth way about him & his pithy one liners were pure Bond. He was perfect for the part.
Cubby Brocolli missed out on 2 obvious actors perfect for Mr Bond , Patrick McGoohan & Lewis Collins, I worked with Lew on Who Dares Wins & found him to be a really nice guy, easy to talk with.
Well Sunshine, It's a big IF but if i ever won the lottery I'd make Lewis, Suart, Nicky & Aynsley an offer i hope they wouldn't refuse, to reform The Mojos to play at my celebration hoolie, along with Georgie Fame for good measure!
I was quoting Lewis' line about his school days "A doe amongst lions" a great line, I added the lamb bit, it's got a nice ring to it, lamb/ lion. i hope he gets back on screen or stage or both, soon.
What happened to Lewis Collins. I know he did some theatre acting and there was a rumour he was teaching computers lessons. He never appears on the screen anymore like Martin Shaw. WHO DARES WINS is a brilliant film that Lewis Collins was in. I think that film is called FINAL LAST CHANCE in the US or LAST FINAL CHANCE.
He lives as a family man in the USA, or that's what you hear through the grapevine.
I don't think, that these rumours about the computer things are true, if you google LC a bloke named Lewis Collins turns up, but he has nothing to do with our Lew. But so you know, how rumours were spread *g*
Would be a blast, if he would turn up on TV or theatre, but I think, that's absolutely wishful thinking.
sunshine4537. I heard he moved to the US as well. That when when I read about the rumour about him teaching computers. It said he was teaching computers in the US. He might be a writer for all we know or teaching acting. A lot of actors quit acting and either take-up writing or music. I also remember him in a British comedy but I forgot the title. Do you know him and Martin Shaw hated each other while making THE PROFESSIONALS?
You really can wonder, what he's up to nowadays :sigh:
At least, he did sign the The Professionals Unique Factory Set Cards from Strictly Ink, when he was in England last spring.
Do you mean 'The cuckoo waltz' with the british comedy ?
About the hating, I think they got on well after series 1, if only on working terms. But who knows, there are rumours, they get on well after work, so there you are *g*
I honestly can't remember that comedy title. All I remember was Collins sitting at a meal table at times. I don't remember much of the comedy. THE PROFESSIONALS where he was Bodie as part of CI5 and WHO DARES WINS where he was part of SAS was his best work. THE PROFESSIONALS is my favourite series as well. I remember watching them on TV as a kid and I was proud to get them on DVD uncut. THE NEW PROFESSIONALS will never beat THE PROFESSIONALS.
Thanks for this video ! "The Professionals" is my absolute favorite TV series. I discovered it in Buenos Aires (where I born) in 1984, when I was re-orienting my TV antenna on the roof and (downstairs) checking the image quality on the TV screen... then suddenly I was amazed with an action scene of "The Madness of Mickey Hamilton"... and my antenna had to wait a little bit to see me again :) It was my beginnig with it. Thanks a lot again ! Sergio Koval (Barcelona, Spain)
Hi Sunshine, I'm a big fan of the Professionals from the 70's , also a BIG fan of Lewis Collins-Bodie. I have the dvd box set of the whole complete series from the 70's and still love to watch him and Martin Shaw. Still love Cowley as well! Great videos and keep em coming!
Thank you so much Sunshine for all your Lewis clips. I checked out Lewis on YouTube last year when I first started using it and haven't checked him out again until today so was so glad to see your videos!!! To this day if anybody ever asks me who my ideal man is I still say Lewis Collins! I fell in love with him aged 10 in 1978 when I first saw The Professionals! I even joined the LC fan club!
Ah it's lovely to still see him. I used to hope I'd bump into him (as I'm from Liverpool) but I never did... I'll have to take a trip to LA now suppose... Scary thing is, when I used to watch the Professionals in late 70s, I used to fancy Bodie something terrible and think, "I'm just a kid, far too young for him." I watch the Professionals now (and still thoroughly enjoy them)and realise, I'm now too old for Bodie. Now THAT'S depressing. Good work Sunshine. Love your stuff.
So glad to have found so many like minded fans of Lew. My long suffering husband thinks I'm mad to have had a 30 year crush! sunshine you are a star to have found all these clips.keep them coming
Would you believe, it were Lew, if someone would post as LC ? Me not, so let's hope, he's online and drops in from time to time to see, if some people still post something about him. Well, one can dream *g*
I am such a lewis fan, the professionals still gets a regular viewing at our house!. mrgeorgebanjoman 2 years ago
Patrick McGoohan was famous in the 60's for some crime tv, wasn't he ? I thought, he turned the Bond role down, but can't recall the reason.
Lew def was the James Bond, who never was. It's such a shame, really. He would have deserved it.

I was quoting Lewis' line about his school days "A doe amongst lions" a great line, I added the lamb bit, it's got a nice ring to it, lamb/ lion. i hope he gets back on screen or stage or both, soon.
mrgeorgebanjoman 2 years ago
thanks for clarifying. And I like the sound of the quote with your lamb bit :)
For seeing him again, I think the odds are against us, unless someone with an unbeatable offer will approach him.
But like everyone else, I still hope that will happen. And hopefully, he's aware, that he's still so much wanted.
