I've been a Red Sox fan since 1967. "...we fell apart, we broke each other's heart". Yeah, many times. I'm still not over 1986. Love the shots of Yaz in this video; my favorite player of all time. They just don't make them like that anymore.
@austin77joe did redsox make playoffs this year ? oh thats right but yankees did. stienbrenner must have been doin something right over the years eh cement head look at all the championships about to come. next year i could see the jays ahead of the redsox thats how big of a joke the redsox are
@proulx420 OK, let's see how your prediction did, cement head. Hmm, August 1st, are the Jays ahead of the Sox? Let me take a look at the standings...oh, my, the Jays are 12 games behind. And spinning their wheels full speed. Hmm, I guess the joke is on you, eh?
What more would you expect from an ignorant person. Remember when the Yankees were up 3-0 and blew it. It was I believe called and will always be called the biggest collapse in sports history. GO SOX IN 2010.......
to the both of you granako & gxHx9 the yankees buy their championships the top spenders in baseball oh remember the yankees are the only ones to blow a 3 games to 0 lead to the red sox of course
Very touching. As I was growing up Yaz was my favorite player. I even tried to learn how to bat left-handed because of him. My Dad has always been a Red Sox fan and taught all 6 of his kids to play and love the Red Sox and the game of baseball. I remember being out in our backyard and pretending to be Rico Petrocelli catching pop-ups. :)
Aw, fantastic! I've been a Red Sox fan for 43 years, and I have no connection to New England. When I was a sophomore in high school in 1967 my best friend was from Michigan, and all he could talk about was "Detroit Tigers this, Detroit Lions that, etc, etc". I got so sick of him I had to pick a team to root for to beat his Tigers. So, I picked the Red Sox. Like I say, this was 1967, so I picked a good year. I've been a diehard and heartbroken (until 2004 at least) fan ever since.
Outstanding video -- so good they should show it on NESN.
The '67 Red Sox were my favorite team and that season Carl Yastrzemski was the closest thing to a one man team I've ever seen. All the clutch homers, all the the clutch hits, the amazing catches, the throws from left --- you had to be there, see it yourself, to appreciate what this man did that year.
Mantle was the greatest ballplayer I ever saw, but for one season, Yaz was the most valuable player I ever saw.

@proulx420 Red Sox have won more since 2000 then the Yankees.
And Steinbrenner is dead and GONE.
mrceebees14 1 year ago
@proulx420 Yeah, you may want to reconsider that after the Sox landed Gonzalez and Crawford. The Jays ahead of the Sox? The joke's gonna be on you.
