  • the saxophone was so awesome

  • Note to the ignorant...if you ever TRULY fall in love, and then have your heart broken, you'll know the lyrics are FIGURATIVE!!! Idiots...

  • 25 years ago today, this song reached #1 on the national charts!

  • What would I do ??? Nile K. Amonra please contact Moses!!!chacka69 Bless u 4 2012

  • 69chacka Nile K.Amonra R U out there???????anyone who can help me !thanks chacka69

  • This song always reminds me of Family Ties...good times

  • 21 years & she dont love me no more

  • My favorite!!! Just makes me feel good.

  • That interview after the song was simply epic. I love the coked out 80's. Who wouldn't take that honest and humerous interview over the banal crap the artists usually say?

  • Family guy just now on bbc 3!!

  • @Matt22992 shut up

  • why isnt family guy none of the top comments

  • @klook shut up

  • At This Moment...there are 36 people have no idea what Love is really like. I totally agree with frontierdriver and SNUGSBUTTERCUP that True and Lasting Love like he shows is something we all long for.

  • @sleepysandi7728 Hey, man, you'll never be in love with anyone but yourself!

  • This man really cries his heart out!

  • This is the most beautiful song ever.

  • 3:40 epic run

  • Sucks someone had to go through the pain and personal anguish to make such a lovely song for everyone to enjoy.

  • Very awesome tune Billy, Paul Gayton told me some very nice stuff about your talent. He' was very proud of you! Peace be with you!

  • Classic! Thank you for sharing.

  • Tom Jones? Michael Buble? They don't hold a candle to Billy Vera.

  • @jimmylee123able Sorry, never heard this till Tom Jones sang it and sang with passion and emotion, there is no comparison..:))

  • @MrHjarvis Jones did great, and i love his music but the original will always be the best!

  • @MrHjarvis you have lost your mind, this is the man, the only man who can sing this song with the passion and intense personal motivation that it requires don't believe me watch the other version online the older version.

  • Back in the day, a person’s “life” was his richest and only commodity. To give twenty years from one's life tells us how much he loved a special lady; how much he was willing to bargain his own life to keep her. This song was written from raw emotions with true love in mind; when love and one's life really meant something. All the kidding around about “getting lucky” was just a ploy. I think all this guy ever wanted was “just a lasting TRUE love.” (And he can call me any time he wants to!) ;)

  • @SNUGSBUTTERCUP If a woman required a man to bargain his own life to keep her from leaving him, that is not true love it is a mental sickness and the woman is hardly worth keeping.

  • @SNUGSBUTTERCUP It did take 20 years for Billy to have a hit.

  • I love you, Linds.

  • Family Ties, best two episodes ever...amazing song

  • I just absolutely love this song....what a voice and it reminds me of my 1st fiance who was gunned down (they were looking for his cousin) and he died in my arms when I was 21.....RIP DANNY

  • oh my heck. I was searching for this song, for like forever(: i love it so much! I can relate to it in soo many ways..

  • amazing :)

  • Never tire of hearing this song - a classic. Reminds me of a lost love "if I could hold you again". Unfortunately I won't.

  • love this song what did you think I would say at this moment

  • Wow! Killed it! I remember this coming on the radio when I was taking a shower in 1987 and knowing......I was leaving someone.

  • love love this song!! :))

  • here's a tid bit of info about this song...it was originally done as a filler during one of their concerts. On the final episode of Family Ties yes it was played, and made this song hit big time as it wasn't well known until that episode aired!

  • definately reminds me of 'Family ties' He argues with his mom and she yells:"YOU DEFIED ME!" ..........classic

  • The question was first songs you would play at your wedding.Well yhis may not be the first but it's close.Billy Vera brakes it down.

  • Nice work Ricky!

  • I saw this band at the Belly Up I think it was 1984 still love this song

  • The song from King of Queens was so catchy and heart filled. Something not common for an opening intro.

  • Great voice. Great song.

  • At This Moment, 34 people can't relate because they can't find a relationship to be in in the first place.

  • @frontierdriver shut the fuck up

  • @thelurker25 Awe you poor little boy.

  • @frontierdriver cunt

  • I don't care how many times I hear this song...

  • This song will always remind me of the most painful break-up Ive ever had. Truly lost the best girl ever.

  • @uret7 Same

  • @uret7 I can relate to that. Except it reminds me of the best man ever.

  • Even now this song is absolutely beautiful. Edie

  • I never get tired of watching this video. Billy Vera and the Beaters are one of the great undervalued treasures of the entertainment world. They have blessed a lot of people with their music. This video is the definition of "Owning a Crowd."

  • lol that's when I first heard this song on Family Ties!!! I love it!

  • Great song, too bad it's a "one-song-band"

  • Comment removed

  • This remains a timeless song sung straight from a great crooner. It's a reminder of past years and lost loves. Performance was impeccable and Billy had the audience in the palm of his hand. Sax section was great ..a little overpowering because of mixing but still I'd love to have been there...damn, .let me get a tissue..

  • Anybody hating on my man Billy and this song!! Needs to cut it out!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Always have always will! Whenever I do a movie, I'm singing this song!!!!

    Mr. MSV out!!!!

  • @MoneySexViolence Jewel?

  • amazing.

  • What's sad is that you take music to a unhappy place because of other peoples opinions....if you are looking for a argument with me it's not gonna happen....you are entitled to your opinions,as well as me, so on that note keep in moving and on to the next person who you don't agree with...and I love my world it's happy...and peaceful......so Have A Great Day....

  • John Sager from Branson sung this at our resort a month ago... It was awesome!

  • My head just blew up! OMG!

  • @Drammen77 Me too. I have always loved this song and would try find it online by searching its lyrics, but could never find it until i saw it on an 80's cd commercial. I always thought it was billy joel for some reason...LOL!

  • ok so i had i feeling i was supposed to watch this..............it was written in my baby book which i found 11 years ago...........never knew that it would be a song..............do u think my real father could have written that note to me?.............wondering if i could hve met tis guy before..............i don think so tho........just weird nothing else is in my baby book except this song

  • @bailey44422 wow ! too cool, just accept his love, he was trying to tell you something obviously

  • ok so i had i feeling i was supposed to watch this..............it was written in my baby book which i found 11 years ago...........never knew that it would be a song..............do u think my real father could have written that note to me?

  • 3:16. Love that iiiiii.

  • i love this song

  • What an amazing song ! I actually am going to see Billy this Fri. night performing in Studio City,Ca. March 4th, 2011

  • Thumbs up if Family Guy brought you here.

  • 1 of my top 20 songs of all time

  • I love this song. Heard John Sager (from Branson) and he can do a wonderful rendition of it! Makes me cry.. but it's awesome.

  • Broke my heart the first time that I heard this song .... and it breaks my heart now !

  • amazing song, amazing voice!

  • Billy is one of the best, most passionate vocal artists in the world.

  • Go`head Billy, sing Baby!

  • Thanks for making me laugh at my own crazy wording of the phrase-piece of sheet. Leave it to me-I have been known for using the wrong word more than I can count.

It was great to hear the song again.

  • @deaconfantana That's the first time I heard this song, and I never heard it since without remembering. I believe 'that one girl' wound up marrying him in real life, and they've been together ever since. Tracy Pollan.

  • WOW...REMINDS ME OF FAMILY TIES....HOW MANY OF OF REMEMBER THAT....THANKS FOR THE POST...

  • @lyric520 - Sad that you remember this because of the stupid tv show.

  • @archona54 WOW...IF IT WEREN'T FOR FAMILY TIES WOULD ANYONE HAVE HEARD THIS GREAT SONG...AND DON'T RAIN ON MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES...AND LETS NOT BE RUDE IT IS YOUTUBE...DUDE...HAVE A GREAT NIGHT..PEACE....

  • @lyric520 - Wrong. I, along with a multitude of people in my town loved the song before Family Ties used it (and didn't do a good job with it, I might add).

It's sad it took a idiotic TV show to let people know there was great music out there that they don't bother to try to find because like every other era, they're stuck in their own little world. Like you seem to be now.

    Later.

  • @archona54 So ... because of an accident of birth, fate, whatever - you heard this song ... early on ... seriously? That's your claim to fame? What an idiotic premise.

  • @lyric520 Funny that I saw ur post tonight...there is a t TV LAND ribute to FAMILY TIES & other family-oriented tv shows from the 80's...A guy just song this song, in dedication to the cast of FAMILY TIES...I've always loved this song, but never knew who sung it, so I typed in the words to it, and found several ppl on youtube singing it...can u tell me who the original singer is.

  • @MzPreshas This IS the original singer!!!

  • @lyric520 i remember !!

  • oooh the PAIN

  • 28 people dont know what to do in the moment

  • This arrogant guy has a very average voice and such is this video. Anybody who thinks otherwise is tone deaf.

  • @tlginhere....if you can listen to this performance and ONLY find things to whine about, then you just don't get it....AT ALL!!! Sheeeeesh!!!!!

  • @kennypooh56 I'm not whining about anything. Just countering the tone-deaf people who think this arrogant guy can sing. You obviously don't "get it" or you wouldn't be replying to my comment!

  • @tlginhere ur tone deaf he has more soul than marvin gay

  • @hannahcbfl123 You very obviously don't know shit from shinola when it comes to singing. More soul than Marvin Gay? LMAO.

  • @tlginhere well my dad does he a professional musician very well knowed he said that

  • @tlginhere Alright, first of all, I am almost (if not entirely) 100 percent sure that he was being tongue-in-cheek with his whole interview "routine" at the end. I mean, did you really take that seriously?? Secondly, please listen again to his vocals and reassess whether you really think he has just an "average voice." Or, better yet, compare him to the singers of today, and see how he stacks up. Not too many current singers have that much soul...P.S. Oh, and I am definitely not tone-deaf.

  • OMFG! Listen to the interview at the end of the video!!! He says about meeting women and people in general and getting thru to them: "It's all about the pizza....a meatball~sausage pizza....THAT'S the secret! You feed them until they surrender!" This REAL LIFE pizzaboy loves it and KNOWS how true that is!!!! :)

  • Without a doubt...this video HAS TO BE one of the most fantastic renditions and performances of ALL TIME of this song!!! Not only are the lyrics so VERY deep and so meaningful & tear-jerking....but the way Billy Vera WERKS the crowd and makes them beg.....LITERALLY BEG HIM.....to bring it home and give THEM closure for whatever pain of a long gone relationship in their past is simply STUNNING!!! This will FOREVER BE one the absolute BEST "one hit wonders" of the music video industry! DA~HAMN!

  • Just saw Billy perform this live last week....he's still got it...this song never gets old.

  • I’m very surprised that this song isn’t on a Anime Vid. The 1st strings reminds me of Lovely Complex: she cries, she says she loves another, she says she will stop love him. It also reminds me of the angst Green Green where a young girl travels through worlds to find only person she will ever love, a long time ago they were cursed where they will never meet again in the same world they will be forever separated she finds him but he doesn’t love her or remember their past.

  • DracolX is a faggot. It's obvious to everyone on here but him. He's prolly a little 15 year old douche who gets rejected by women and has a Norman bates relationship with his clearly proud mother. He prolly jerks off while sobbing and slapping himself in the face and singing this exact same song. In fact, his only social interaction is probably commenting on YouTube videos like some loser recluse.

  • This is one of my favorites song it is just lovely!

  • This song leaves me speechless!!!!

  • That voice and that sax!! OMG!!

  • there's a certain angry person watching this video. he's SO fucking lucky you tube comments are "anonymous". if I met him, motherf*cker would be in a wheelchair for life before he had time to say "ouch"...IF I WAS IN A GOOD MOOD THAT DAY!

  • One of the best ever written songs...

  • I like the Michael Buble's version better. (Just my opinion.) Thumbs up if you agree!

  • You know when I first saw the Episode from Family Ties that this came with ... I really thought it was actually Micheal J. Fox singing cus at that time I think he was doing Light of Day with Joan Jett, man was I wrong!!!! Any idea what season of Family Ties is this from and is it on DVD????

  • like how he left them hanging on that last note lol

  • all time favorite song....

  • she fell for the "sweet words" of a player. that's all there is to it. her being naive and vulnerable. husband always going out with friends. it's the usual "you don't have time for me anymore" so i'll mess around. so wrong! all she needed to do was ask the husband. she just needed an excuse to fool around.

  • I truly love this song, made up with my footy player boyfriend to this song. Had to get the piano player to learn the song first.Corny but true.

  • One of my all time favorites!!!! Just don't get much better than this!!!!!

  • @ADitto68 Cant buy it in Australia, thank god for youtube

  • i like micheal buble version better\

  • reminds me of being young and watching family ties

  • Great song!!!

  • omg thats the last song my husband played before he flipped out andcut me

  • so nice!

  • I'm still in love with this song AND Billy too - what an amazing singer!

  • This brings me back, I had this record. And I listened to this song over & over again... Even though I didn't even date until I graduated High School in 92...

  • this is our song

  • That sax is a must in the song, it is amazing too! I started sax lesson's yesterday at the age of 54.

You are never to old to learn something new. This will be the first piece of sheet music I'll buy.

  • @tresnick7 played the sax for a looong time, good luck and enjoy the music !!!

  • @dennyb097

Thanks for your encouragement! I need it. Practice makes perfect, right!

    Love the sax!

  • @tresnick7 lol piece of sheet...sounded funny.

  • This is my all time favorite song. Would love to see it live. Billy you are so sexy, Did you write it too? I am guessing so! Teresa

  • A couple of singers have sung At this moment and nobody, sings it better than Billy Vera. This is a classic!

  • wonderful wonderful wonderful

  • Billy and the Beaters ... one of my favorite sounds!! Billy looks and sounds like a tough guy from The Godfather. Amazing that he could write one of the tenderest and sweetest songs of all time!

  • To all you Indianapolis Colts and Iowa Hawkeyes fans: This was the #1 song in the USA when Pat Angerer came into the world.

  • It's the Alex and Ellen song.

  • How i love this!

  • lost my wife in 1997... still cry every time I play this song.

  • @vanman243 i lost my wife 3 yrs ago this past May. I know exactly how you feel, nothing can ever REPLCE your true love, but I'll pray you will find someone to COMPLIMENT her.

    peace to your heart

  • @vanman243 You lost your wife, really? I wish humanity could lose your fvcking wife... I'm sure she's still running around drinking people's blood like the worthless parasite that she is.

  • Simply beautiful, you can`t write and sing like this without going through the pain of losing someone. Hats off to you Billy V. you put into words what we all have felt at one time or another.

  • i still remember that episode from family ties

  • @martyr406 yeah i remember this episode from family ties like it was yesterday! hard to believe over 20yrs ago....where did the time go? love this song and family ties! want to subtract 20yrs from my life right now and go back even for just a day!

  • Where was this taped ? Is Billy V. playing nightly, if so, where?

  • thanks all for all your kind comments...

When you decide to marry, ask yourself "what does he/she need that only I can give?"

DON'T ask yourself what YOU will get out of marriage.

Be willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING for the one you love.

  • I LOVE mp3iffy it WORKS just google mp3iffy.

  • Thordoggie, Sorry buddy....you are going to make cry...
