In her prime, the Queen could do no wrong. Perfect pitch, unerring sense rhythm, incredible feeling, ideal improvisation and that glorious voice. I love this song because it shows that even on mellow song, she was stunning. Every little thing she changes in this song is just exactly right. The woman is a genius.

now this is the good stuff! back in the day with with the undisputed queen of soul,blues,jazz,gospel,big band,opera,you name it,miss ree ree will do the hell out of it better than anybody! for sho. looking so gorgeous,royal elegance and working her sexy. i love this series of aretha performances of 78 and im feeling so nostalgic and sentimental just reliving this moment of seeing detroit aretha live on stage singing stevies motown detroit jam! this song was a major major hit in 74 for aretha!!!!

I did a report on Aretha's life for my Women's History class and found out that she designs her own clothes and once wanted to be a designer. So that's why she dresses like that. It's her own personal style.

@swaregirl Well I am in NYC so everyday is fashion show. And yes Aretha's voice always transcends but most of her stage gear left a lot to be desired. My prayers are with the Queen as she and her family deal with her health crisis.
