Bleach isn't so bad, but like most modern-day action animes like (naruto, yugioh, ETC) - it suffers from the need of WAY TOO MUCH FILLER, stuff I don't even care about or wouldn't want to know - nobody does it like how DBZ or Yu Yu or Zoids used to do it - telling additional information through movies and OVAs. Anime directors think filler arcs are good for keeping up with the manga - bs.

I actually think filler arcs are good only for promoting minor characters and giving those minor characters a little extra screen time and background other than that I hate fillers that drag on and pass their expiration date if you know what I'm saying.

@Momentum139 Dragon Ball Z has plenty of filler, and Bleach doesn't really have that much.

Filler that actually enhances the storyline or answers questions in a non-mundane way. From what I have watched, most of the first season could be pushed aside to the fight with Uryu and then with Renji and Byakuya. Ichigo and co must invade the Soul Society TWICE, and run into allies and other ridiculous side trips along the way, he goes through at least 4 "desperate to win" training montages, and from what some have told me, the Bount arc in of itself was COMPLETELY useless.

Except for the fact that that stuff was in the original manga. So why do we need the useless filler between Bulma and Frog Ginyu? Or Gohan fighting Tao? As a Super Saiyan no less. Why did Piccolo need to get a driver's license? Seriously, dood.

@kaihedgie Some fillers are good. Like, humor wise. You wouldnt ever imagine someone like Piccolo getting a driver's license, right? Some fillers are ok, but I can see how people get upset when there are way too many fillers. Thats actually why I stopped watching Naruto. I got tired of waiting for them to get to the point.
