No, just take usual precautions as you would ANYWHERE in the world. Main areas of Istanbul will not bother you because the man is muslim. People will be happy to see you and serve you because you are foreigner and interesting... You will have the best time there. Very impressive night life. 1st try to find some good friends they might help you to get around in Istanbul. Also go to the south. ANTALYA, Alanya, Turkish coast is also beautiful

Constantinapole&Istanbul had been hosts to the biggest 2 army on the universe. Byzantians and The Ottoman Empire..
