the reason why the zombies didn't attack as soon as they got there is because the jack o lanterns were lit, old pagan purpose of the cadle lit pumpkin is to ward off evil spirits, notice the zombies didn't attack until AFTER macy knocked the jack o lantern over, when the candle went out the zombies came immediately, I'm a wiccan btw

Forget movies like Saw and Hostel, this movie disturbs the hell out of me given the fact that KIDS die in it. Children. Being mauled to death by zombie children (who tragically died themselves) and even though you don't see it happen, you hear it and that almost makes me want to cry, no matter how mean those kids were, this was disturbing. Same thing goes for that poor fat kid who was killed in the beginning by that principle.

cont. tells the pirate boy to use it as protection. Seeing as how no one listens, she is the only one who uses it as protection. I think that Rhonda purposely knew about the trick and ambushed them into the arms of the evil kids. She used them (as they were using her) for a human sacrifice so she could protect everyone else from the wrath of the ghost kids. Once they blew out the last pumpkin it was the only thing Rhonda could do to protect herself from death. So yeah thats just my theory.

See the thing is, is that I don't think Rhonda was that innocent. I understand that she was scared shitless and that she was angry, and that Schrader (the nice guy) tried to help her but I understand why she let the kids kill them. Before this scene the pirate guy was trying to talk to her about Halloween and Rhonda corrected him by calling it Samhain and talking about the rituals of the ancient people including human sacrifice.
