how do u stop the wires from snapping off when it keeps changing direction with the wind? coz the wires start to wind around it till it tightens,then snaps :-S
generally no. They require too high a RPM to produce power, you then have to potentially gear them up which has inefficiencies and even add magnets to the rotor etc. a DC treadmill motor is problably a better choice etc.
hi i am trying to make a wind turbine for the first time and i cant find a treadmill motor any where and i was wondering if you have anything you could sell for £20 sorry dont have mutch money
nice,now go vertical since u r in urban area vertical blades preform well with variable direction winds.also u can loose the tail and the swivel parts and not chop ur kids head of with a prop!:)
Good Stuff! Hope that little guy can generate enough energy to charge your batteries. I too have a motor similar to yours (but not up yet). I bet your wife hates when you tear apart the house furniture for these little projects! (LOL)...
que pasa con la lluvia no le entra a los motores el agua?

the wires tangling around inside the tower... you can live with that until some downtime?

How do you keep the wires from getting tangled around the mast as the generator changes directions?

@binashraf use a coaxial connector that can spin infinitely, or cheesy stops and hope the verticle stab works well

@roofy2k
Or... you can use a phone jack..RCA the bigger jacks..they make a good
alternative to "slip" rings...with a little lube, it can last for years..
and cheap to replace...
