@newyoikmabsta I understand why others love it, its mario but I hate it because of the star coins, I want another super mario game were I'm collecting stars, not run to the end of a level, that was cool with super mario 1-2-3 but not super mario bros wii, it has star coins to collect, and they put them in the most stupid troll areas, like at the bottom of a cliff so you need some skill, plus the music is just recycled through the whole game, no classic music, world 8 levels had different music.

There is a way around taking damage from staying 3D too long. It's called the pit of 100 trials, you probably should have mentioned that.

I know what you mean when you say that fans of the first 2 won't like it. I was talking with my friend about the new Paper Mario 3D, and he was saying how strange the footage of it looked with how the characters were standing a apart from each other and how no one tried to dodge the attacks, and I said "you know it's an RPG right?" and he was so confused, like "WTF I thought it was a platformer", as he had ONLY played Suoer Paper Mario

I would have liked if they had both styles of RPG in this game. I liked have real-time for the battles in the field against common enemies, but I would have liked to have a turn-based battle for the bosses.

I find this game underrated, not EXTREMELY underrated, but underrated, I played through it a year ago and really enjoyed it! On your scale, I'd give it a 4.25 as well, plus it appeals to more people.

@Freezingred2 when i got this game me and my dad were so excited it, it was the only game we ever played together and love the ttb gameplays. and when i got the game, put it in the wii and found it its not ttb or rpg and how badly they twisted the title papermario and made the partners simply idiotic i felt overly insulted that nintendo would even title the game papermario. i did play it though and almost beat it but i figured its not worth playing. nintendo needs to make another paper mario.

I prefer the turn based battle system in the first 2 paper mario games. My Mom dosn't like the turn based battles they are to slow for her. Super paper mario when I first got it it was awsome.

Super paper Mario is probably the least fun of the three paper Mario but it was the only one I beat, maybe because it was easier, or maybe because I got TTYD when I was pretty young and for some reason it creeped me out and I only got as far as chapter 2 and I played this one more.

@evilisbliss While on the subject, she must be the only attractive woman in the Mushroom Kingdom other than Pauline (who knows where she is) if Mario is willing to go to such lengths to rescue her for nothing but a kiss or piece of cake...I say that if Mario wants a stable relationship, he should go to Sarasaland (if Luigi doesn't mind)...correct me if I'm wrong, but Princess DAISY has only been kidnapped ONCE. Maybe Sarasaland actually has a government, laws, and efficient security....

Nintendo probably simplified the battle style since alot of casual gamers came to the Wii. I ASSUME this. Cuz' I'm pretty sure Nintendo would keep this.

And I think the series needs a mix of real-time (to quickly kill of enemies and repetition/frustration) and Strategy. The issue with this game is that it lacks strategy. Thats the thing PM needs; a mix of quick-killing and strategic-killing.

Uh... yes it is. Turn-based battles and platforming are two completely different gameplay styles. Since there's only ONE turn-based battle in the whole game (which is more or less a parody of Earthbound) I don't acknowledge it as an RPG.

there's no strategy to real-time. you just jump on top, waggle, and that's it. it's an RPG, rpg's are supposed to have STRATEGY, super paper mario's battle system has hardly any. oh, and if you do use an attack that doesn't involve jumping, you have to freeze the game + open a menu, select it, then use it. so much for real-time, lol. oh, and btw, the turn-based system is very "mario-like", actually.

Taking away the turn-based gameplay in this game has a good side; it lets you kill off enemies MUCH quicker and makes it easy to maintain coins. But the downside is that it makes the game KIND OF easier. Not seriously easier. I have kinda a hard time deciding which style is better; turn-based with MUCH more strategy and repetition in fighting, or Real-Time, with simple gameplay, faster-paced action, but lack of strategy; and in many cases, challenge.

Super Paper Mario is a fantastic game and I had a great time with it. Although it was alittle too heavy on text. the constant switching to 3D got annoying and some of the Worlds were alittle bland like flying around in Space ect.

The soundtrack was amazing, the ending was sad, and the art direction is brilliant.

I have yet to play Thousand year Door since I'm not a fan of Turn based RPG's...but I'm willing to give it a chance because it looks even more awesome than Super Paper Mario

I liked the change becuz' the last 2 ones were complicated. I was ALWAYS running from the REPETITIVE Battle's, and losing alot of Coin's (Of course, PM2 let me sold my badges to get A LOT of coins. But not in PM :(
