War ended officially for the US March 29th or 30th 1973, depending upon dateline of signed agreement in Paris Peace talks. Combat troops were pulled out. The war ended for US then. The South Vietnamese were abandoned by Nixon just like Vietnam Veterans when they came home. I lost childhood friends, family, buddies-in-arms, and my own youth in the war, but we nor I did not lose the war, just our country lost us.
