I downloaded this album from iTunes, and this track is titled "Grow Up". There are other mislabeled tracks on the album, like the "Soft Rock Star" remix not being labeled as such, resulting in two tracks titled "Soft Rock Star". My question is, what is the real name of this track. Is it "Grow Up and Blow Away" or is it "Grow Up"?

Listenin' to the older Metric compared to 'Fantasies' is just mind-blowing O_o They've been consistent with the overall coolness, and the sound matured greatly. I remember this song and Dead Disco were my first two songs I heard of Metric a while back thnx to Pandora and been hooked since. I know Fantasies songs like Gold Guns Girls is more popular with some of the kids today, but the Grow Up and Blow Away album remains my happy place.

Neither. I think the song is about a guy who wants to have kids and a woman who does not. They do to fix the problems in their relationship, i.e: she can't get him a shovel for the mud b/c she's writing in blood and he would get her a typewriter to write with but he's knee-deep in mud. They have a family and are "living the life" but it feels shallow and farcical. If THIS is the life, this is all there is, she'd rather just die. Thats what I think.

I've only got a guess. I think the singer and her imaginary boyfriend are reaching the end of their 20's. IB wants to get married, settle down, etc, but the singer doesn't want to let go of her youth.
