@ApostastyUK that is still one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard. If you got to meet those guys and they knew you cut your testicles off to meet them they'd laugh in your face.
@ApostastyUK That is ridiculous. They are people just like you and I. What do you think you'd get from meeting them......the answer to life? A million quid? You'd be lucky if they remembered your name a week later unless you had something very clever to say to them.
WOW! As a loyal WHO fan for 40 yrs., (saw them in '80; then saw Daltrey on 7/2/10 -opened for Clapton) - I would DIE HAPPY if THAT had been my experience! Excellent montage, dude!!! I'll bet you're STILL re-living that stellar night, right??? BRAVO for you - - WHO YA!!!!!
@SteveCat200169 I got in to the Who rehearsals in Chicago in '99, Ed was just as shell shocked as I was when we walked through the door and onto the stage w/John, Roger & Pete. Magical day
It would appear that way, but no. It was truly a matter of knowing the *right* person to get access to Roger. The band was not doing fan meet & greets on this tour, which mades this encounter all the more special/amazing. Eddie and his wife showed up after we'd been there for about 15 minute (at which point we were drinking Roger's scotch). We overheard the two of them swap cell numbers and make plans to meet up after the show. Too wild.
I'm a really ,really , really big fan, seen them play about thirty times, was at the loading dock before ,and after many shows only to see black town cars leaving after the the show,no autographs, only John's thumbs up! Come meet a good fan! I'm not a computer nerd, or a yuppie, I wear dark navy work pants, and black T- shirt, and go to my knees often.I also have tinitus.I can show you my artwork.Has anyone out there seen the first Who Rolling Stone interview? Pete rode a skateboard!
I was able to take my 12yr old son to that show so he could see my favorite band. First time I saw The Who was in 79 and through all of their tragedy to be able to be at that show was very special!
@jefffrake The first time I ever saw The Who I was 12, and it was in 1979.... I have see The Who or Just Roger several times since... I took my second son in 2006 and my daughter in 2010, and I have tickets for all 3 of my kids and me for October 2011.... I can't freaking wait! I wanted backstage passes, but since one of my sons wanted to go, I just couldn't afford it. Its all good... It will be a good memory for my kids, when I'm an old woman, I will remember that night with great memories too!
Very Nice montage !. I travelled over from London to see that show as i've always been curious to see for myself just how much our American friends dig The Who and whether there were any differences between them and an English audience.
Always wondered how people are lucky enough to get backstage passes ? Please do tell !
Very envious!!!! Thanks so much for posting, and I would give my right arm to have had that chance. What a thrill.

The pic at 0:57 with Ed and Roger is pretty special. I can't get over what it must have been like the 1st time Eddie met his idols. Amazing I guess!
