  • Not only that, but after working in the strength shoes, my calf strength was absurd.....i still--20 years later--do 50 rep sets of calf raises with 500 pounds.

    The double legged bounding--both stationary and linear--heavily pounds the lower glute insertion points which is one of the primaries for vertical jumping.....

  • After I blew out my knee playing college b-ball, the doctor at the time--circa 1990--told me i would never run again. I trained with both lifting and the plyometric program with the strength shoes and not only ran again, but put 8 inches on my vertical from before the injury in 10 weeks--32" to 40"...

    I agree lifting needs to be a mainstay but you are incorrect when you are identifying the calf as the only muscle these shoes work. The glutes take a heavy pounding in the advanced workout

  • Sorry, dude. This isn't how you build a big vertical. You do it through heavy squats and deadlifts coupled with plyos. The calf , which is what these shoes help, is responsible for maybe 3% of the vertical. There are no shortcuts and no substitute for heavy lifting work.

  • @fruticetum you seem to know alot, and im just saying, but 3% is alot. Any gain on your "max" is alot.

  • @fruticetum indeed, i found that the hard way... but still the last couple of exercises BETTER WITHOUT those soles are very good for explosiviness and vertical! nothing like some nice squats etc though!

  • @fruticetum Depends on what type of jumper you are. Strength or Plyometric. Check out Kelly Baggets Vertical Jump Bible for more info.

  • I never endorse anything but these Strength shoes WORK!! I bought em like 7-9 years ago and only used them for like 4 weeks. I became faster (I already had some speed) and more agile. I did the exercises exactly how they said too on the video and the manual.

  • Bro these shoes are no joke im 6'4 and a half and i couldnt dunk but after i got these 10 weeks into the program id say ive gaines about 6 inches to my vertical and it also has given me more explosiveness i can now 2 hand and bring the ball all the way behind my head and almost touch my head to the backboard so if youre thinking bout getting these do it its a great investment

  • I have some of these. Are you suppose to feel burn in your calves after a while? I got some today for Christmas and wore them around. Do they burn after a long workout?

  • u dont need the shoe to do it, but the shoe does make it easier as it elevates ur foot off the ground giving u that extra workout when jumping. Jump soles are about the same but I do recommend the shoes. I'm 5'5 and was 3-4" short of touching rim, now I can hang on it. As soon as I have mroe time to train, I will go full strenght in my training and hope to dunk, even if just barely.

  • if you stick at it for around 8 weeks - there is a garauntee of around 6-8inches increase. But you can get more if you put in the hard work
