As for the Blazblue - the announcer CLEARLY pronounces 'L' and 'R' properly since, you know, BOTH letters are spoken, and lol 'sound editing' doesn't warp voices THAT much. The whole 'lol Japanese announcer can't say Level so they had to say Rebel instead' is stupid on many, many levels.

ArcSystem probably just thought REBEL 1!!! sounded cooler than Round or Level or whatever else makes more sense.

oh ffs. Japanese is a syllabic language, so technically it has NO 'English letters' (There's no kana/kanji for the letter k, just for syllables that begin with the k sound).

That doesn't mean Japanese people are incapable of saying L/R, it just means that their writing system has a hard time *showing* some sounds. If you're a Japanese speaker using a written translation, the pronunciation isn't always clear. But that's true of anyone trying a secondary language, not just Japanese speakers.

Do you see the 'R' in the beginning of Rachel and the 'L' at the end of it? I've been taking Japanese for 2 years and been applying it. Stop being such a weeaboo and accept that there are Ls in Japanese. The pronunciation of the Rs in Japanese is between R and L. When it's Hiragana, it's always R, when it's Katakana, it can be either R or L.

I don't own it, but I'm familiar with the Guilty Gear series which has the same style as this one and personally, I want this game soooo much. IGN gave it a 9.4 I think.

@Liq1080 One of the best examples I know of would be the voice of T. Hawk in street fighter 4. The japanese voice sounds perfect for the character but the american voice is just some kid. Doesn't fit the character at all. Same thing with Fei Long. Its supposed to be a bruce lee clone but even with the powerful poses his voice sounds pathetically weak.
