I guess we have very different taste. I think the CTS-V is the best looking car out right now, not counting "supercars" like Lambos, etc.
Every other car looks pretty much the same. They just take a standard rounded off 90s body and change the grill logo, whether it's Lexus or Ford or whatever. Even the Corvette looks boring and dull nowadays, like something built by Mazda in the early '90s (totally round, no edges). The CTS-V is just beautiful.
@RamboRepublican Ok, you got a point there. Nowdays there arent that much new breathtaking cars anymore. The CTS-V look is rather polarising. I like strong line like the old Chargers had, but the CTS-V looks rather angular for it´s performance. It give´s the charm of an understatement car thought. Especially because vitually nobody here has seen one around, so nobody knows what´s lurking under the bonnet as well.
What keeps them from putting more power into it is racing regulation. Those 21 extra horsepower are gone because the car has to get all of its air through restrictors. All cars that race GT or ALMS or SCCA or British GT or Le Mans have air restrictors so that competition is equal, if a car is squeezing every ounce of horsepower out of its engine it wouldn't be fair for other cars competing, it's to make the field equal. Also racecars may not carry ac but they do have a cooling system for drivers
@whlzdenis AC?? your joking right? racing drivers don't care about having a smooth ride or being cool when they race. its all about being the fastest, comfortable seats and AC are heavy which spoil the performance of the car
@miketothesupra Actually many of the ALMS cars have a type of SC system. The Corvette C6R has an AC system. It's not as important in short races but in a 6 or 12 hour ALMS race it can be very important.
Yay! Welcome to iRacing Mr. CTS-V!!

You dont buy a CTS-V for it´s looks. Let´s be honest, it´s ugly.
But the engine makes MORE than up for that!

6.2-liter V8 engine that developes 535 hp... what the hell? Are the rest of the hps used on the AC?
Anyway, that there has got to be one of the ugliest racecars I have ever seen.
Hjerrick 11 months ago
LOL does AC actually work in there? Cause im sure the driver wont even feel it. And just wondering what kept them from puttin a bit more power to it?
whlzdenis 11 months ago
@whlzdenis an AC would be a waste of space and weight going that fast with air already coming into the car

@miketothesupra In a recent article I read in Road & Track, I believe the ALMS mandates air conditioning.
