I am just a regular person who believes we can elect citizens to the House and we can make changes. You don't have to give any money to GOOOH, just sign up. If you want to run you will have to give $100, but if not, just sign up and help! I love it!
I think this is a great idea. Its a good start anyway to try and get some nonpoliticians into congress. I just hope once they are there they would not succomb to the temptation of corporate bait.
Tea Party founders are billionaires. Chucky Koch and his Family are pleased as punch that you are tending their astroturf. Your efforts to dismantle all impediments to greed makes you culpable. I engage in productive activities every day, my latest is helping veterans reintegrate back into civilian society.
There's much more to true patriotism and contributing to the common good than parroting your opinion leaders and garbling our history.
@Yogadelphia Good, glad they are billionairs and I hope they are interested in this idea because we are going to need their money to publicize this movement so all of America can get informed.
I don't know if you are referring to GOOOH, but I can tell you that we are not billionaires. We are regular folks who are concerned about the country and who are willing to give our time and energy to fix this thing so that special interests and political parties do not ruin life for the rest of us. Please get informed, ask questions and engage in some productive activity for the benefit of our children.
As for me, I don't give any money to groups, only to the candidates.
Tim has a good IDEA. but there is one glaring flaw. - RATIO -
There is such a corrupting influence in DC, that the NEW 435 will soon be corrupted
in the first 6 m0nths. Federalist Papers said, 40,000 to one = Tyranny. Currentlly each House member 435 [ locked down in 1913 to that number] represents 720,000 roughly. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. Zero Representation,
and so we need to get it down to where we are close to 30,000 to one -
A great and noble idea, but it is doomed to not only fail but to split the vote of Constitutionally-minded citizens. Some may vote for the conservative (hopefully) Republican and others for the GOOOH candidate, thereby assuring the victory of some Progressive/Socialist Democrat. No thank you.
Interesting plan. I appreciate the call to bottom-up activism & a DIY ethic. But there seems to be an almost willful ignorance of past and present grassroots electoral reformers. People like those at FairVote who are yr virtual neighbors here on YouTube.
/user/fairvote#p/a/u/1/sKXgwI9xNRA
Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Reminds me of the word Black Panther Fred Hampton used to describe white radicals' call to political violence in the late 60s:
GOOOH is pronounced as "GO" and it means "Get Out Of Our House". It's not a political party, it's an election process designed to empower voters to replace all the washed up career representatives with candidates who best represent our districts. It forces candidates to vote the way they promise to or they have to resign from public office. Anyone, left or right, can participate. goooh*com - for info
GOOOH is playing Russian Roulette. If GOOOH places 3rd party/independent candidates on the ballot (the majority of whom will probably lose), and we end up having liberal democrats with an even greater majority next year, I am going to be one SERIOUSLY hacked off individual. People need to be focused on raising their conservative voices at the precinct level, and make sure that the chosen Republican party leadership is really conservative -- and support candidates who are truly conservative.
This is bullshit from the elites. the senators have always been the problem. the house of representatives are the only ones who ever represented the people. This is the Republicans taking it to yet more insane right wing ism. complete lunacy. check the list of senators who voted FOR the patriot acts and check the same with the representatives and you see who the real traitors are!
You are WRONG! This is exactly the kind of mindset that the established Party loves you to have: a sense of futility; that your vote will be wasted if you vote 3rd party.
Don't fall into this trap!! DON'T listen to this poster. They are most likely a plant anyway.
They are one party-- don't you get it? How much did things change under 8 years of Republican domination? They are playing sleight-of-hand, switching off and taking turns screwing the voters.
Remember when Brown won in Massachusetts? Shock waves!
The media jumped on it as though it was a sign that everything was going to change-- that Obama lost his health thing.
Certainly, there are plenty of liberal Republicans who need to go. And they need to be voted out IN THE PRIMARIES -- not with some reckless 3rd party experiment in the general election.
"there are plenty of liberal Republicans who need to go"
Yeah, who needs liberalism like low taxes, gun rights and free speech? Liberalism (ie. individual freedom) must be kicked out of the Republican Party...
[/sarcasm]
I know that some right-wingers like to use liberalism as a buzz word to incite opposition; but do they even know what the word means? They are thinking of the word "progressivism"; which is socially liberal but economically anti-liberal.
Politics is not a dichotomy, which is where some people get confused. There are more than two sides in our nation (it is more complex than just "liberal v conservative").
Someone can be socially liberal (for gay rights) and economically anti-liberal (supporting high taxes on the rich). They can even be socially liberal on some issues (for gun rights) and socially anti-liberal on other issues (anti-gay marriage).
Denouncing liberalism in general is taking too broad of a stroke.
"Economic conservatism" in regards to the US is "economic liberalism" because our founding forefathers set up a highly economically liberal State.
If you go back further in Europe (ie. "more conservative") you'll be in feudal times, where all the peasants and lords shared their money and the lords decided how to distribute said money (similar to communism).
Of course the "conservative" right-wing is not suggesting a feudal system of vassals and lords (which goes back to my previous point).
i kinda like this idea. its a long shot and there are politicians that i actually like but i mean... i see nothing wrong with a little mini-revolution. God knows we could use one right about now
Better late than never ... right? I will pass the word... I have aadvocated for many years for the people to take their government back and to get involved... This is what happens when the people go through life with the attitude of " I don't care as long as it doesn't hurt my family" is crock of crap in my book... Well for the most part many did not care... this is what they get for their indifference of caring. W don't have much time, November is fast approaching..
Thanks. Please connect with your state group and encourage others to do this. We need feet on the ground as well as in the virtual world. You're right. We have been apathetic for too long and it has hurt us deeply. But no more! People are awake and angry. Now is the moment for GOOOH!
I posted a video response. I attended the 9/12 March on Washington and, while there, shot and edited a video. The short version is in YouTube and that is what I linked you to under "Video Responses." Tell me if you like it.

Modern American Liberalism = Progressivism = Socialism, and that is what needs to be eradicated from the Republican Party.
I don't think most liberals even know what the word "liberal" _used to_ mean. Modern American Liberalism is a complete perversion of the word.
