  • The four noble truths are so obvious and so simple. 1. There is suffering 2. The cause for suffering is craving. 3. There is a way out of this. 4. The way out is the 8 fold path. Basiclly. 1. Identify the problem 2. Identify the cause of the problem 3. Is there a way out is to remove the root cause of the problem 4. Recomended path to follow to remove the cause of the problem Simple approach to problem solving. to solve the biggest problem in any being.
  • @nsugathadasa The root cause of the suffering is hunger. And it repeats once in several hours. The haves just go to the kitchen and relieve the suffering. Think about the have-nots. No 8 fold path with ease the suffering unless someone give him food!!

  • Another example. I get over excited before a meal and and I feel very happy eating. I am hoping this pleasure I get when eating lasts for ever, however, once my belly gets full and can no longer take any more I have to stop and I feel sad that the pleasure when eating has gone and I am waiting for the next high. However when I understood the process I felt much at ease and calmly ate moderately knowing that the food is there to keep me alive and that is it. Any attachment will relsut in pain.

  • Well I can give you examples of where in my life when suffering disapeared when attachment was absent. For example when I was little each morning when my father left for work, I cried and suffered because of the clinging that I had to my father and suffered each time. However, once I realised that that is the nature, and my father would go every morning and come in the evening, I let go of needing to have him near me and the suffering was gone. There are many more examples. you might have some.

  • Yes. Science is always changing. Any body or any theory can be proved wrong by presenting good evidence. That is how you do science. When scientist do not know a cause for something, they do not tell lies or invint things. They say, "we are confused and we do not know". That not knowing and confusion is what drives science. I do not see a predefined purpose of life. We makeup whatever purpose we want. One truth I see in life is unsatisfactoryness.

  • @nsugathadasa

Well for your info we are not result of a fluke chance and we are NOT here without a purpose. Thank God NOT everyone thinks that way. If everyone thought that way there will be no morals with humans and we will be like animals.

    Watch

The Purpose of Life - Dr. Bilal Philips

And it is not very intelligent to follow a bunch of scientists who are confused and have been telling lies.

  • @alfulani5 Well, What can I say. I hope your path leads you to wisdom and freedom form suffering.

I am sorry but I cannot buy the god(s), creator, Idea as it does not have evidence. I am looking into myself to releive myself from suffering. For example am I prepared if the doctor diagnoses me with cancer tomorrow? No! but I know that the cause for all suffering is attachment. If I can let go this attachment to the body I know I will suffer less and I will see things as they realy are.

  • @nsugathadasa Nothing will free anyone from suffering or attachment.

Any living person who claims he is free from suffering and attachment is definitely lying. When we get hungry we suffer, and start craving for food and try to attaching ourselves to plates of food.

Signs of a creator is all over the place. Even your body and one living cell is a miracle which no human can create.

This world is a test. A test to see who will use their intelligence to figure out the creator and obey him.

  • @nsugathadasa

So you agree nothing will give anyone "freedom form suffering".

So why spend your time on something you know for sure that is NOT attainable? Freeing oneself from suffering and craving is simply NOT possible.

  • @nsugathadasa

We follow Islam to save ourselves from the eternal life after death. You apparently being an educated person are taking a huge gamble with your afterlife.

In case Islam is true you will suffer for eternity.

In case Buddhism is true Muslims will be in a much better shape anyway. Because we not only chant "refrain from intoxication, fornication, gambling, etc. " but most of us (of course with a few black sheep here and there) put it into practice very strictly.

  • CANT GO TO HEAVEN THROUGH BUDDHA....SORRY

  • I was brought up a catholic and from primary school had the crap scared out of me about hellfire etc. The big search began and as a 63 year old I believe in re-incarnation and the peaceful life of following (or trying to follow the Buddhas teachings. Dalai Lama and Buddhist teachers rule!

  • Why have they tried to turn Buddha into a God? Worshiping a statue is against Buddha's original eachings.

  • I also criticize idols, even statues in parks. Just like u &mothers like u, attacking idol worship makes me feel so superior & better without having to understand worship, idols or religion. You & I don't have to understand that all worship is idol worship whether it is a cross in a church or the Kaaba rock in Mecca. If it is not a physical idol, then it is a mental idol like the concept 'love of Jesus'. People like you & me get instant superiority while enjoying the bliss of complete ignorance!

  • He talks a lot but he doesn't say much.

  • tru tru

  • Thank you for posting this. : )

  • Thanx for sharing these video's, really enlightening.

  • i think Buddhism is not a perfect religion, but it's the best religion of the world.

  • This guys looks, and talks like he just smoked a pound of weed.

  • When I was in the brainwashing phase of Christianity I was taught to avoid eastern faiths at all costs for fear of demons. I am more enlightened now.

  • pleased to hear that you have realised and understood some areas of buddhism. In Kalama Suta Buddha asked that no one should accept even buddha's words just because its tradition, dogma, superiority of teacher or social standing. Buddha clearly stated that one should always question analyse and come into conclusions without blindly beleiving.

  • @craigMellow dude remember not to become angry. its not good. that means speak kindly to people who disagree etc :)

  • I just wanted to congratulate you on seeing the light western religions often use fear to control their followers minds. I to am no longer in the grasp of western religions.

  • but, now in the grasp of eastern religion.

  • i used to be in a western religion too, i felt the same way. it's like, "worship god or you're going to hell." :( i'm glad i'm in an eastern religion now.

  • Glad you were able to escape that mental prison. I didnt gravitate towards any particular religion but I do think all of them have some good components. Peace!

  • hey moron the whole world is laughing t muslims because you people follow a CHILD FUCKER, PEDOPHILE MUHAMMED. in madina muhhammed looted caravans. killed 800 innocent people and raped their women. STIIL MUSLIMS THINK HE IS THE DEVINE MESSENGER..haha THIS WHY I LEFT ISLAM.

buddhist dont say buddha was in 100% control od his body

"monks, everything that arises due to conditions die off when conditions dissapear. every thing THAT ARISE in this world is subjest change and decay"-- LORD BUDDHA

  • You know nothing about Buddism!! LOL

The Mahayana Vimalakirti Sutra explains, in Chapter 3, that the Buddha doesn't really become ill or old but purposely presents such an appearance only to teach those born during the five defilements the impermanence and pain of defiled worlds and to strive for Nirvana.

Buddah claimed he has 100 % control over his body but eventually killed himself because he could not stand people like you who bring disgrace to his name. LOL

  • well I guess you are a bloody lier like child fucker, rapist killer Muhammed (piss be upon him). I dont think in Mahyana sutra there this kind of explanantion. HOWEVER THERAVADA TRADITION IS THE MUCH MORE OLDER TRADITION AND i FOLLOW IT. there is nothing like this and I am sure you muslim is another lier and probably a suicide bomber too.

  • OK I guess in THERAVADA TRADITION you are asked to use profanity, in total contradiction of the 8 fold path preached by learned monks!!

Read chapter 3 of Mahayana Vimalakirti Sutra and see it yourself!!

  • @craigMellow you dont sound very mellow, craig.

buddhism is just like the rest of the world religions; dispassionate and detatched from reality.

  • @craigMellow Lol Hi Im A girl and im 21 & a Christian & I have Muslim friends But Found Out some Horrific Things they Do during the EID Celebration Which Is so bad That I Wont go Into Detail But I Find It hard Believing in Anything Anymore & even My own faith.. If their god wants them to do that Disturbing things then why aren't our (MY) god protecting What Those animals Went through During the eid Mumbark celebration.. So anyway I was Just wondering can I be a christian & Buddhism?

  • @alfulani5 Why are you speaking of Mahayana buddhism when this video is obviously about theravada buddhism? What are you trying to get at?

  • @craigMellow Mind your tounge. You yourself ar not at all showing a go impression on Buddhism now.

  • @craigMellow If you read the kalami sutta you would not be answering peple in an arrogant way.

  • @alfulani5 Buddha had no 100% control of his body. That is his teaching of anitta (impermanance) and his body was also subjected to this impermanance. But the buddha had good control of his mind. The buddha is an atheist and on his death bed he died in style saying that there is no after life after death and this is it.

  • @nsugathadasa

Exactly! But looking at the way our bodies are working dont you think someone is controlling it on our behalf.

Everything is controlled The body temperature, chemical composition of blood, cholesterol level, sugar level, blood pressure, etc. And we have very less control over our own bodies. We cant control our hunger, thirst, waste disposal, sleep, immunity, etc all the way up to time of death.

And nothing happens without a cause!

  • @alfulani5 I wouldn't say someone is controlling our body. It can all be explained by chemical reactions. And I agree with you that our mind does not have control of every function of the body.

I agree with you that it is the nature of the universe that we know that nothing happens without a cause. If something happens, then there must be a cause before that and untill we find evidence for that cause, we say we do not know the cause.

  • @nsugathadasa

Well you might be surprised, the cause is already known.

The Western atheist scientists of the West have spent trillions of dollars to prove matter came into being from nothing but each time they do a test they get more confused.

Like the recent test in the hardon collider which is proving even Einstein's theories are wrong.

Again the answer is already there if you look in the correct place, and you can know the purpose of life and where you are heading and be prepared.
