  • i think u gotta have a pretty fast internet in order to play cloud computing games like onLive's

  • @Mrgreatestfreakout Recommended 2Mb/s down. Preferred 3-5Mb/s down. Which is actually just north of the average DSL connection.

  • sounds too good to be true...

  • @Ipikop You can try it for free. It's got tons of great games.

  • You also have to consider: A) Do you watch a lot of Youtube videos? B) Do you download a lot of stuff? C) Do you have other people on your network? For example: a little brother playing xbox live 24/7? If so, Onlive is not for you.

  • This is definitely NOT a good alternative for hardcore gamers. The money you'll save from upgrading your computer will only cover the extra costs of your ISP. This service is only good for a VERY casual gamer (about 3-4 hours a day, depending on your limit) or someone who doesn't have a limit cap at all.

  • Something that people should know BEFORE switching to Onlive: HUGE BANDWIDTH USAGE = ATROCIOUS EXTRA FEES on your Internet bill (most people have a limit cap). I've learned that the hard way.

  • It's been 2 years....Why havent they expanded on better up to date title games......

  • You guys should try Gaikai...Its AWESOME,You can can play crysis 2 on the browser...if you dont believe me check it out urself

  • i have good itnernet. with no limit caps. and i played alien vs predator yesterday for a couple of minutes to test out the service. i was really raelly impressed. maybe in the future could it be a huge impact on the gaming industry. but it cant compete with xbox or playstation. not now anyways. but soon i can see the technology catching up with the concepts and ideas behind the service, and it'll be really great to see happen.

  • @adamzez Awesome. I love Onlive but I'm in the UK with an ISP called Virgin Media. Play a bit of Onlive, you're throttled massively.

  • @madjam002 i found i wasn't getting throttled until 5pm. obviously, thats still bad. considering VM claim they don't throttle apart from P2P connections like bittorents. i ended up upgrading to 50mb connection for 35 a month, which is not throttled at all, ever. still getting 30mb+ at peak times. for that reason, i recommend that if you can afford it.

  • thumbs up if ur watching this in 2011

  • Oh and, if you don't like Onlive too fucking bad because they secured a US patent for cloud gaming...

  • Guys just because their aren't a lot of games doesn't mean it's a fail. Their are 100 games and more coming. Look at Steam, it was launched in 03 but didn't take off with game devs until 06-07.

  • Ahead of it's time. ISP's can't guarantee a stable connection all of the time. However, I really support that this is an awesome idea.

  • @veskadim I pay for the second cheapest internet package my cable company has ($25) and the LOWEST speeds I got were 25 mbs. This is not ahead of its time considering you can get fast speeds from your cable provider, 4g speeds from mobile phone companies like Verizon, and 4G routers and modems from companies like Clear for reasonable prices.

  • @tmcfadden23 Is that Europe? In America the net speeds are... terrible.

  • @eatmyshorts2007 noticed the the uploaded date. it was in 2009

  • this needs cod!

  • Electricity is cheaper at night. There's going to be way less bandwidth and cpu use at night. They should have a discount night only subscription.

  • This will cut down on piracy. More movie and music companies should partner with it or invest in it.

  • lol i got amircosoft advertisment lol ")

  • ONLIVE said my wired internet connection was too slow for my computer but it plays perfectly fine wirelessly on my MAC ???

  • @eatmyshorts2007 Shame they thought of it 7 years ago!

  • btw,Steve Pearlman is probably swimming in 100's right now...

  • I was one of the first on this service and it has gotten a lot better in its short time. at first I could detect lag but recently it seems pretty much instantaneous. Its still not quite as good as local hardware but its getting there. I dont see how this could not be the norm 5-10 years down the road. Having a service that is both console and portable, can be played on your TV and your cell phone while on the go is going to be hard as hell to beat by the big 3.

  • Everyone I recommend that you try this. The software for the computer is free plus you get 30min trials for all games. $10/month you get to play 50+ games. My sn is marioluigi_ml Add me!

Also the graphics look great on the newer games, just make sure you got at least 5meg connection.

  • Everyone I recommend that you try this. The software for the computer is free plus you get 30min trials for all games. $10/month you get to play 50+ games. My sn is marioluigi_ml Add me!

  • why are all these CEO's name's ,,, STEVE

  • @icekilla95 i wish my name was Steve.. oh wait, my middle name is Steven :)

  • If this develops, and all the big kinks are worked out, then this is going to be a huge revolution in gaming

Can you imagine no more console wars, being able to play a game on any platform, and access to playing all users on all platforms? That's totally incredible

  • @SANGHELIWARRIOR117 Nintendo would never sell out. They been around for too long since 1889 to just giv it up now

  • steam still is better i dont care how better they get i still going with steam its simple and better in many ways

  • this video is not for impatient immature children

  • Are you done explaining?

  • why isn't EVERYONE switching to onlive yet? i have the little onlive box and its greeat

  • @nomcow I know right I'm about to get it soon!

  • wait, it says it has Crysis Wars. Why is it not in Onlive right now?

  • @Willsuitt1 EA (Publishes Crysis among other things) backed out at the last minute.

  • no fucking way!!! this is so not what gaming is!! what about gathering with your friends and trading the games? or saving with friends to buy a new release and then play it online or local?

  • you can play games max at 60fps.why would i do that to my eyes? good monitor with a 120 refresh rate,a pc that can run games with constant 100 fps is so much better.

you cant buy new eyes people

  • @TheSUBGAMER actually in a way you can, theirs bionic eyes that are in development for the blind. A few people have them already, and I'm sure as time passes the technology will simply get more advanced and it could maybe become mainstream. Instead of buying glasses when you get older, maybe you just buy new eyes heh.

  • @BillyBobTS well you can buy new eyes even now, rich people do that all the time, kill somene and trasplant organs they need, but for regular people it is not an option

  • ok I gave this a try, and honestly it's like playing games through a filter. The quality really falls because it's instant streaming. However, there were virtually no loading screens, and it allows for playing any game on my mac (even if it's unavailable normally). I think it's a technology that just needs to be developed. I am interested, but not putting money down yet.

  • @paulblasi4 My thoughts exactly

  • I believe this will go well.

    Great job!!

  • So if I put this on PC would I be able to play games that weren't put on PC like Red Dead redemption :(

  • hmm, but can you play online with other people like call of duty?

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YOUR ADS ONLIVE!

  • PLEASE MAKE ONLIVE PORN!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • if they brought call of duty crysis 2 and battlefield this would be better

  • @eatmyshorts2007 Two years ago? I've had this idea forever. I'm pretty sure many people have. But these guys had initiative to do something about it.

  • @SalientK Yeah I have always imagined the new consoles to be this way! Its a really good system, it works and 50 games for 10 bucks each month! what a steal!

  • Also, what if your internet happens to disconnect or you forget to pay your bill or some stupid crap? No video games for you! I think console will do better since there's no stupid monthly fee. Jesus, they force you to pay even if you're not on multiplayer. *for PS3 and wii, no monthly fee at all, 'cept for PSN plus* Besides, from what I heard, they don't even get the newest games, so this is just retarded bs. Btw, I'm expressing my opinion, not complaing ;D/

  • @Cabooselol22 well , on live is cheap compared to COnsoles ,on Consoles u buy Games which r released every weak Which make it expensive while at onlive you Buy time per month to play the game w/out any new console or high end PC . But this tech is way ahead of its time , alot of people dont even know about this thing.

  • Okay 1. Why the hell should someone pay for it monthly if they're not going to play online? 2. What happens when your computers fry? I don't want to lose my games and money. Note: I didn't watch the ENTIRE video because it bored me, so if I was mistaken let me know.

  • This product is going to be big. Do you have to buy the games on there?

  • @GLITCHesAREus77 Yeah, you have to pay for games, what you get free is the chunk of remote computing that actually takes the input form you and streams the video back.

My laptop cannot run the stuff I've been playing on it with Onlive and it performs way the hell better than I thought possible.

You can also get a monthly "playpass" for $10 a month, first month free. That gives you a pretty big selection of games to play, mostly older releases or less popular stuff, but definitely enough for me

  • Does this thing lag?

  • I played Alien VS Predator on Asus EEEPC, playable and audio and video is great.

  • @eatmyshorts2007 hahahah me too... actually I have a project like this for mi engineer degree

  • Kuru, the online play certainly does work with OnLive.

  • i hope its not like the xbox where IF U PLAY IT BREAKS!or the ps3 where THE ONLINE DOESN'T WORK AT ALL!and neither like the pc where ONLY RICH PEOPLE CAN PLAY!

  • @kuru93 It's not that at all

  • So if I got onlive for my PC would I be able to play games like Uncharted 2, Infamous, and etc on it through onlive?

  • @Daxter609 Those games are exclusive to PS3, so no. It's pretty much PC games. So Homefront is on it, and Borderlands etc.

  • @xanatos117 Aww that sucks :( I wish they had rights to them.

  • @Daxter609 If sony allow it

  • @Daxter609 No.

Uncharted, inFamous, are PS3 exclusive games.

Multi-platform games are available on OnLive.

  • I like to masturbate

  • WHAT ABOUT MY BELOVED WII COLLECTION?!

  • @Azander137 PLAYS TEH WIIIZZZZ

  • it showed crysis wars! :O but i dont see that game when im on it

  • @tallyhoman911 I KNO :(

  • @eatmyshorts2007 me too LOL!

  • I can't see this being a console killer. The ISPs will likely be even more upset if this catches on. They're already irritable about those of us who watch almost everything streaming on the internet. I use Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, and watch lots of You Tube videos. My computer has pretty much replaced my cable service (except for internet of course.) Heck by the end of the month most of the time, they cut my bandwidth to 3MB/s. It doesn't stop me and it's still works okay with that.

  • this thing is awsome ... my friend got it and it is actually kinda interestin ... cant wait to order mine !!

  • But is this console coming out?

  • @juniorsenior94 its already out! XD

  • Great shirt, Steve.

  • do these come on tv????

  • o man the same guy that made quicktime is making this? it's prolly gonna suck.

  • Is this in the uk, coz most of the uk has broadband speeds of 2-3mbps so does that mean that we all have to game at standard def. Also could someone tell me the costs for this

  • does it sacrifice graphics, i have gaming pc i built, and tired of how the pc gaming industry is always requiring updates and also cant stand the crappy graphics the consoles offer compared to pc. will ONLIVE be able to provide max graphic capability to the same extent as a pc with a 1gb video card or does ONLIVE sacrifice some of the graphics to make it playable

  • @Miller3492 Some games have maxed out graphics like the popular titles but less popular ones dont

  • @LittleBigJoey Maxed out graphics, like in console terms? Probably because it it were like high-end PC gaming, it'd be too expensive.

  • @LittleBigJoey i tried it 2 weeks ago, graphics are nothing like my computers, it still looks realy good just not like a good gaming pc, its somthing to look into if u dont have a good desktop

  • @Miller3492 Yeah i use it because i own a mac and dont have a wide selection of games and i dont have enough money to buy and keep upgrading a good pc

  • This works great thanks OnLive i bought just cause 2 over the weekend from you guys

  • @SuperBlueElephants graphic are blured tho, still doesnt beat the graphics of a pc. or consol but it not a bad idea. i like it for my school laptop

  • @Miller3492 look on my channel and you can find two videos of me doing game play using onlive and i did a livestream and graphics were a bit blured but still funcutioned

  • @eatmyshorts2007 snap mate

  • Just found some hot, latin girls busizz4me.info

  • Lol he says its not possble to feel the lagg on Onlive, actualy tha average ping is about 150ms. When I play on a 150ms game server, i ragequit cuz its unplayable

  • this would have been so popular if they advertised well

  • @Flextaa It would be popular if most people had better connection speeds and no bandwidth caps. -_-'

  • I would 've swore I've seen a video where OnLive uses photoshop on their service.

    Can someone link me?

  • OnLive has certainly been everything they said they would be plus more. We look forward to great things from them in the future.

  • Who Paused At 7:52? ..lol

  • EA Suck for some reason they withdrewn there support and games to be developed on onlive i smell a bribe cough cough ,,. Sony cough couch ,,. Microsoft

  • Having finally tried the service, I must say i'm pretty impressed. Although preset, the graphics still hold up pretty well, and some look absolutely great. The service ran butter smooth for me, though I have a very fast connection so it probably won't be an ideal service for everyone(US speeds suck in comparison to most other places). The games they have are mostly good, though they need a LOT more to be a real contender. Console killer . . . probably not. Good alternative to consoles, probably.

  • @eatmyshorts2007 hahhaha me too

  • Fail

  • what onlive becomes self aware

  • finally something to do with my macbook air

  • I have just seen the console killer....

  • @richboyg1 I doubt it will be a console killer, and agree that it will have it's own fan base

  • @214cardenas And why's that just give it a few years and consoles will be no more..

  • @richboyg1 Are you some kinda expert?

  • they wont let you run the game in standard def anymore only high def... they actually just exxed out half of their possible clients with that move

  • this is definately the future of gaming but the ISPs will have to catch up...most of our 256K-1MB connections are simply not good enough. have to have cable or T1 to run it. i wish they had an option to run the games at lower resolutions on slower bandwidths then everybody could play....

  • Why the hell would anyone that owns an Xbox 360 and a PS3 would even think of getting this?

OnLive is inferior and not worth it.

  • @FilMarck because its free... the console is 99, but games are extremely cheap. i have xbox 360 ps3, and onlive and use all 3

  • @ernestryles I'll hardly think about getting this even if games are extremely cheap.

I want the hard copies not just buying something off a server.

  • @FilMarck I have a ps360 and onlive and i prefer onlive

  • @LittleBigJoey Why?

  • @LittleBigJoey really ... wow

  • @carlosz013 :P Check out my onlive vids its better then you think ;D

  • thumbs up if you didnt watch this whole video

  • Comment removed

  • i believe that this will revolucion the mmo pplaying... play with no lag is completly difrent.

  • @sl1g No lag if the other player has a good internet connection because it's all the same.

  • this is going to be built into tvs soon, it can't not happen

  • lol the console is not as good as the game, its other way around. playing Crysis is just not the same on 720p as it is on 1080p.

  • My dad said this would come out 10 years ago, y'd it take so long? no one wants to spend money getting the latest hardware to play the latest games, have someone else take care of the specs, and all u need is internet and a monitor. GENIUS

  • WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT !? MUST HAVE

  • @Filnizer no

  • How about bringing this to other countries

  • This guys looks and sounds like Rodney from Stargate Atlantis, with all Technobable.

  • hopefully it spreads to other markets soon.

  • This thing would actually suck compared to xbox and ps3 because you don't get exclusives plus there's hardly any games

  • @genbowl

Well this system just launched about a month ago.

  • this will be awsome if cod was on onlive u guys should do that

  • this looks good but it really doesnt have a future because this is where all games are heading no more disks ! and mircrosoft and sony will out out better games and not allow them to use their games so this will die !

  • @hank5291 Dude, there are TOO many games that come out for every system, its not like every system is just going to make system specific games, this will live on. Plus, it's internet all over. You'll never need to walk out your front door for another card or disc..

  • @AeixRoxas that means that ppl will become alot more laze .. :D

  • i cant beleive this only 99.00 im defintley going order this today xbox and playstation better watch out

  • i wanted to stay for some drinks in the reception

  • this can't be too good. It's been out for like a year and i haven't heard of it til today

  • Yea, once you're in the middle of a game, then your internet messes up and then your game stops working.

  • @jimmymack94 their servers actually save the current game, so it doesn't matter if your connection messes up...thats ur problem

  • @jimmymack94 That actually happened to me once and it pixellated a few times. :( But then again, I'm running OnLive all the way from Canada.

  • I like this idea of gaming but I dont like how I dont have what I purchase siting by me

its a feel of security if I buy a game will I have it for a life time till im sick of it ?

is there a limit of how many games I can buy ir store on my system ?

is this a monthly service ? or is it like PPV ? anyways this is a toss up to get

and for now i'll wait for the system to lower in price or wait to buy it

I have to give this alot of thought but great idea for gaming

  • Onlive sucks dick.

  • "onLIVE" "Let's Jump in" - Please, if you want to market your device, dont copy microsoft :p

  • @Spartan117FS if they copied microshit why didnt they bring it out ????????? you call microsoft the biggest company ever but cant even think of this shit and plus in the next thew years guess what......microshit will copy them and it will be the same except expensive with an xbox logo, this is revolution if you listen and read straight ok

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6

Calm down. Everyone does copying, I was just pointing out that this time it's much more similiar then usual - Unfortunately though this technology is NOT that revolutionizing, 1. It will never work worldwide (Transfer delay 'ping' issues) 2. Exclusive games will stay exclusive for the bigger companies...

  • @Spartan117FS but you dont know do you.......u aint a wizard, they can easily spend the money from people who buy thier games and buy bigger and much better servers, then everyon will be happy, this is really good for people without spending £300 on console or £1000 on pc, all do is buy this for $100, i believe 2011 its coming in europe, so really this brilliant

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6

    Okay, LISTEN.

At the moment our technology works a little below the speed of light (Drift velocity of ions and electrons), if you dont have dedicated servers close to you you will always have delay. Do not argue when you dont know what you are talking about. If I play against a Japanese person online, the game will always lag for the one who is not host, since there is a long distance for the data to travel.

  • @Spartan117FS but the thing is, i live in the UK and this game is in USA at the moment, they will bring it out in UK i think middle 2011, but when i play a game outside USA i get no lag, just a lil bit sometimes but it shows you how strong their servers are even outside USA, this think has potential and even sony and microshit can see it, people who cant afford £1000 pc or £300 consoles, all they have to do is download it for free or buy it for £100

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6

If you like it, sure, use it. I'm not there stopping you from gaming when there is a server maintenance or a crash =) I understand that people cannot afford 1000£ PC's, but for those who do afford them (like me) it's something I would rather have on my desk. I have a 3 monitor setup with Nvidia SLI 3D surround, can your onLive do that? Nope...

  • @Spartan117FS mate i dont care what i got on ma desk coz i aint the one going round like a dick saying i got a pc with nvidia sli.......man sort ur life out, who cares about ur monitors, i rather play this which gives me better graphics than ur for free son......

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6

Still, you dont have 3D or surround support. I can run all my games maxed out with 100fps framerates on 3 monitors, onLive cannot do better then the max, and they are not using full anti-aliasing, so games run at a higher detail level.

  • @Spartan117FS yo, if you so care about fuckin graphics then play crysis but i dont give a shit ok u tit, i care about if the latest games will run on my low end pc, im gettting a ps3 so i dont give a shit, at least i play games like civilization, or diablo on it but on ps3 i cant, plus onlive is free so up ur ass

  • @Spartan117FS still i would like to play on my tv

  • I doubt it will go anywhere.

  • well fuck i can never play this cause i dont have hdtv and i dont have a credit card

  • Sooo what if I don't have an HDMI port..how do I play it on a tv?..

  • lol guess what ps4 and xbox 720, they will copy this %100 because they are a bunch of pussies, sony copied the wii and kinect copied ps3 eye toy, Onlive is looking really promising and cool because i havent got a high end pc and every game on their that i played works fantastic !!!!!!!!!!

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6 Sony didn't copy the Wii.

  • @TeChNiQuEVx6 XBOX didn't copy the eye toy. Eye toy sucks, and uses a different technology. Besides, the Kinect was conceptualized by Microsoft, long before eye toy made gossip before its release.

  • this thing right here can play the latest games out with lag or any problems, u dont need a high end pc e.g i have an old laptop and this plays perfect on it, all you need is a broadband connection 5mb + and ur done :), its really good trust me, try it out free on their website and when it comes out ill buy it untill i save up for a xbox 360 or ps3 i dunno yet :/

  • alienware won't be happy to hear this :O

  • Steve......JOBS

  • its the phantom all over again

  • this thing is going to get hacked so fricken fast lol

  • @TJPlaysXbox360 right..and you know this how exactly Mr Genius?

  • @nitrasbeks LOOOL :), faggots like him think they can hack anything but they are wrong, how can you hack it lol, its just software without any OS

  • I would use this on the Xbox Live marketplace if they put that up there instead of buying a new "mini" console.

  • It should be on Xbox live marketplace or PSN network! Thats where people that would use it are.

  • So we can have a crappy computer and still play? LOL what about graphics cards and all that? I don't think that will work.

  • What happens if your (or their) internet connection goes out while playing? What happens if their server crashes? What happens if they go bankrupt. Right, you either lose your progress in the game or lose your games entirely.

You'll need a very good internet connection to play this I'm thinking. This might be a good idea for some people, but I hope games don't exclusively move to this because I'll never play another game again if that's the case. I like owning the data.

  • This is horribly flawed.
