hi mate, i'm having a little biting problem with my indian ringneck(ginger).it was handraised by me since it was 2weeks old now its 5month old.i have also a cockatiel(koko) and a black masked(kiwi)..these two i have no problem..i train them daily..on training time everything is fine with the 3 of them.ginger bites at particular times..e.g when i ask it to step for sleeping time..or when am preparing its food and ask it to wait..at that moment if i ask it to step up it'll bite..any advice please
I have a senegal boy. he loves sitting on my sholder... i wonder how to get him to step up on my finger like Kili does, when he is on my sholder. he dont want to....
i really likes your videos but does all your videos also for a parakeet becuase i have a parakeet and i have him now 3 weeks and when do i have to take him out of the cage?? And what do i have to teach him first
@TheGuitarherochris Yes. Check out my budgie training articles but also read through my parrot training blog. There is a link under more info and on my channel page.
@iStanleyTV Normally I use seeds, nuts, and fruits as treats for Kili but in this video I was just breaking off little pieces of pellet to give her just out of convenience. She was hungry so she didn't much care what she was getting. She just likes food with less regard to what it is specifically. She's a little pig and will eat nearly anything.
I noticed Truman has a water bottle, I'm looking to have one for my Senegal but I know the breeder does not have them for the babies. Did you have to train Truman or Kili to use them or did they pick it up quickly?
@lainmai I taught Kili to drink from a water bottle a couple years ago and that's all she drinks from since. Truman figured out *how* to drink from the bottle the day I got him. Check out his first video. I knew he was thirsty after the flight so I only offered water from the bottle at first so he'd remember it. Also if I put him on the perch with the bottle, he'll drink from it. However, I don't trust him to make his way to the bottle himself yet so I continue providing alternate water for now.
The outcome of this strategy will be interesting... We had a 2nd (young) budgie here for 7 months last year: he learned EVERYTHING from Babi very quickly. He soon began to speak French and English and would only repeat what Babi said. Day in, day out, it was "Babi this," "Babi that" and he never even said his own name! Since Kili only has a few words, at least THAT'S not a problem for you!
