i recently downloaded the first megaman game from the wii store and i really like it :) even thoug im also 21 i never really played any side scroling games besides the one on my gameboy and ocasionly at my cousin i only had a nintendo 64 when i was 10

i think gaming is going into a really bad direction, i really want to go back to the basics, it's a fucking game, we don't want story we don't care about graphics, we want gameplay!!!

i still play mega man games and i love em and i loved bionic commando rearmed because they DID improved the game.

im 15 and i was raised off of old school games. mega man is one of my favorite games ever. mega man 9 was amazing. nes and snes are my favorite systems : )

Ehh... I kinda hate to tell you this but Megaman was ALWAYS supposed to 'cute.' He's a KID.

And Megaman X? Ummm...The X series is basically Megaman merged with Blade Runner. BAD ASS.

But I totally agree with you on what you said at the start of this video and near the end. Modern gaming is basically pretty things and no substance. It's bullshit. Kids need to play games like this and get their asses kicked to learn what REAL gaming is about.

When I was a kid I could play these games for hours and hours. Nowadays it's very rare for me to find a game that can hold my attention for longer than an hour at the most, and usually it ends up being a game everyone else hates.

He wasn't always supposed to be a kid... I mean, he's MegaMAN for some reason, right?

Just take a look at the cover art for the first games; he's clearly an adult (and with a laser gun, wtf?)

I guess Capcom decided halfway through the series to change him into a kid, because everyone saw him as one, and also to save the adult Megaman for the X series.

Just my two cents.

Your words starting at 6:55 weren't a rant, it was total truth that every gamer should hear. EA, Activision/Blizzard, and their ilk...they used to have soul and real gaming passion back in the day, now it's all exactly as you said, just one big corporate shitfest that is blinding the kids these days with graphics over substance. Lately, even games that look photorealistic are getting criticized for looking bad. Thank you for reviewing MM9, Nico. I am proud to favorite this video. =)
