Is it wrong to have ice in a cup you're juicing for a cool beverage? will it mess up the nutritional value ? I always use ice and just previously learned about the drink before 10 minutes thing.
I leave all stickers on since they stay in the machine. I was shown how to juice by hard core juicers and I don't remember ever learning that they are harmful. I choose organic produce for juicing, not sure how the conventional stickers stack up.
Your right about the filter, but it just seems funny to have those great organic veggies and then to leave a thing on with chemical glue, even if it is a little amount...
Yes the pith, skin and sticker pulp gets filtered, but personally I'd take them off and wash the veggies.
Don't spend money on an expensive juicer and a ton of fruit. You'll gonna spend a ton of money on this juicer, a ton of money on fruits that'll just end up rotting in your fridge, plus you'll have all the mess to clean up afterwards!
Just go to juiceberg's channel...they will hook you with awesome juice! My family is crazy about it. And it's a cheaper option without all the hassle and waste!
last but not least on this exciting bit here.. i bet that 1 cup of juice has so much nutrition in it.. u could probably drink that over 2 days easilly..
Yes, there's a lot of nutrition in the juice. It's better to drink it right away to preserve enzymes, don't store it for later. Make what you can drink.
people don't really realize that a piece of spinach dost have that much juice.... nearly all fiber.... just like wheat grass they don't feed it to u whole.. they brew it down.. and coffee .. lol can u imagine eating coffee beans everyday.. fuckk
Some days are better than others. I started with more fruit, graduated to more sugary veggies in the mix, and then eventually transitioned to mostly green veggies. I think you need to adjust taste buds and ease in to it. As long as you have a little citrus, some apple, and not too much cabbage, you should be good.
You won't drink the sticker, it will stay with pulp excess. Veggies aren't really expensive, not when you compare to the cost of processed foods and drinks. Try to purchase in bulk and when on sale to save costs.
Why don't you put a video up showing the positive benefits of juicing with a masticating juicer?
..JITyoga..
Enjoyed your video. I have a Hamilton Beach Big Mouth centrifugal, and am very happy with it. Like your La Lanne, it juices everything that I put through it and I am enjoying fresh juice daily. I used all the veggies in your video and duplicated your green drink. It is DELICIOUS! Thank you for posting it on YouTube. Good health, and continue to enjoy your juicer!
JIT--Masticating juicers, whether auger or twin gear, are the only productive way to juice the dark leafy greens we are supposed to use. I have several centrifugals and love them for some things, but not leafy greens. Recommendations? Look at the excellent demo on here for the Omega 8005, look at the Champion, look at the Samson, etc. Not just more Brevilles and centrifugals.
I have the La lanne juicer as well. I noticed that you were sort of tilting the juicer up at the nozzle with the tupperware bottle.
I went down to my local Lowe's and bought a patio paver to place under the juicer. ( I washed it with soap and bleach to clean it off ) It elevated the juicer about an inch an a half, which allowed me to use other containers with it. You can use two or more if you are needing to juice into a large capacity container.
Because this is a centrifugal juicer, and not a good one at that, leafy greens will not produce much juice. Wrong juicer for greens, and many would say wrong juicer, period. Speaking as daily juicer with 25 years' experience.
With all your experience and such a strong comment, I'm surprised you didn't actually make a recommendation as to which juicer you suggest for leafy greens. The Jack La Lanne has served me well, even with leafy greens. I support juicing in general, but always believe people should do their homework to find the best materials for them! Cheers, to your health!
I buy organic produce and spend roughly $25-30/week. I make at least 6, 8 oz juices and I usually buy carrots, beets, radish, spinach, cabbage (green) or brussel sprouts, celery, small amount of ginger, lemons (1/2 per juice), two bunches of green leaves (kale, collards, etc), and ~ 2 green apples (1/2 per juice).
I look for sale items and if something is out of season and too high, then I substitute. Sometimes you can find good deals at farmer's markets.
Both types of cabbage taste strong when juiced to my taste buds, however, I think the green is less strong than the red. With the right amount of sweet and savory combination you could probably mask almost any strong flavor. My advice would be to start with smaller amounts of the stronger ingredients and go from there.
Bok choy has a very mild flavor compared to green cabbage. Have you tried that yet? I like to mix a little in with orange juice for my sister who hates anything remotely healthy!
This was good. I wonder, though, how much it costs to juice the produce, as it looked like you put tons into the juicer, and sometimes produce prices runhigh.
I'm very interested in juicing!

Great video, and even better voice sound, it sounds clear and professional. You must have a good mic.

Thank you! I'm pretty sure we were testing a professional microphone, but the camera was a little dated.

I don't think ice would effect nutritional value, but I'm not an expert on this topic.

wasn't the label on the zucchini that you just juiced?

Yes, label left on. See my reply to same question.

I see that you mentioned the green cabbage is there a reason why you would prefer the green instead of the red cabbage?
