The ref happened to be directly behind the snapper. Both the Qb AND the referee were not expecting the snap. It was either touch the ball or get hit with it, so he stopped it from hitting him.

I play for north bullitt and when they called for a redo down or coach almost ran out on the field swinging. but what also bites is that we actually stopped them so they punted it and are guy muffed the punt and LO got it back s that sucked

It was a very strange play. Lone Oak DID win going away, but at the time that play happened, it was 19-0 NB. They would get 2 points plus the ball. If they went up 28-0, that's kind of a crusher.

Instead, LO marched down the field and scored. The complexion of the game totally changed.

Yea it only gives you 2 points but it also changes field position the rest of the game not to mention NB gets the ball back.
