Ah...another reason I love Japanese. It truly is a lyrical languge. but Also a musical one. a different note for every sylable, the transfer from words to strings can turn even the blandest of rythms(present company excepted of course) into art.

Actually Japanese is a monotone language like Korean. The difference in syllables can only come from the speaker not the language itself. Then again being monotone may make it easier to fit words to music.

Chinese and Thai are examples of multitone languages. Change the tone and you change the meaning of the word.

As an American I agree totally. Music is now the OPPOSITE of an art form over here. Music keeps getting more and more simplistic and musicians play with no feeling whatsoever. What annoys me is when a band takes a very simple riff, changes the tempo, move the notes up a couple of octaves and call it "hard rock".

The industry is dying. There are very few true musicians left.
