  • I moved to the US when our daughter was almost 3 years old. Because of my job situation, we had to move to several cities in America, which, of course, affected our daughter emotionally in a negative way. Although I still miss Japan very much, I'm glad that I was given an opportunity to learn American culture. I try to see good aspects of both cultures. Interestingly, our daughter's name is Eri (Japanese way of spelling in Roman for Ellie). You seem a wonderful mother. Gambatte kudasai!

  • @LostinAmerica17 Wow that is cool! Ellie's name is エリーin Japanese. It is a common name, but I like common names. I like Japan very much but I feel like I am the most comfortable culturally in America. I hope to move back to America for at least a period of time with my family, but I don't want to move around to much once Ellie goes into school, because like you said it can effect her in a negative way.

  • she's growing up quick :D and she's so adorable

  • @cobratwinturbo yeah too fast!

  • I swear she said 3:04/05 = Anpanman AHHH Baikinman!

As if she was telling you what was going on (:

  • @popcornshower Yeah she says like.. ahpaa paa but she knows what anpanman is ^_^

  • Ellie reminds me of my daughter when she was little, which was more than 25 years ago. I'm Japanese and am married to an American. I met her in Japan and currently we live in the US. I understand difficulties related to international marriage. My daughter is now 26 years old and recently when she visited us she talked about her identity issue. We were surprised that she still has a hard time. I've been looking into "Hapa" issues and try to understand her feelings. I hope Ellie will be OK.

  • @LostinAmerica17 I am sorry to hear that your daughter is facing those issues. I know that for me being an American living in Japan and readjusting my manners and beliefs to their culture and then coming home to America I face some identity issues as well and I am 100 percent American. It must be hard. I hope that Ellie can manage I will do whatever I can to help her. I hope that we don't move her around too much because I am sure that makes it worse.

  • wow, look at her go!!!

  • @VibrationsDrawn yeah she is pretty much running now. ^_^

  • I love that 'outta my way, comin' through!' walk that babies have :D

Been watching back through your vids and it's amazing to see her grow into her own little person!

  • @epower Haha yeah she is free of social rules and I let her be free most of the time because she's a baby and it's the only time she can get away with it. :)

  • @epower But actually that was her dad letting her roam around lol. She is her own little person, she's had a strong personality ever since she popped out.

  • Aww.. Ellie is so cute. I always looking forward to your video.

  • @SAIPEA110103 Thank you!
