In England you learn how to use these pretty much from day one when learning to drive (well, maybe day two or three :)). It just becomes a part of how you drive. The US style of "traffic circle" does not exist here so there is no confusion between the two like you see in the vid.
They are much more efficient with traffic flow than traffic lights - which drive me up the wall when I am held up but there is no traffic crossing me!
Massachusetts drivers fly in and fly out of these things with NO STOPPING except when entering the rotary when there's traffic inside in order to avoid an accident. And sometimes not even then!
Roundabouts are inherently safe. Probably the safest form of road junction there is. Perhaps Americans would learn how to negotiate them — and learn to love them — if they had more of them and if they were designed properly.
our roads are so much smaller and more windy and roundabouts(traffic circles?) are mainly used instead if were can avoid an intersection. cause its more likely to have a crash on one. aparantly the odds are like 32 if u have an interestion and 8 if u have a roundabout...assuming you know how to use it...or chaos haha
there are millions of these in england and some are massive with loads of lanes and traffic lights and stuff. but i spose everyone is used to them here n knows the rules.
to be fair. i cant work out like 8 lane intersections theyre so big and how are u meant to know if u can go or not withthe whole the light is red but u can turn right/left thing. :S
Here in the US we have so many 8 lane intersections its not funny. And they'll stay that way cause it's cheaper than a roundabout with a flyover and a duckunder.
ok but people dont realize these things in ontario where i live are two lanes, and you NEED TO SIGNAL when leaving it!!! so when you pretend you have the whole thing to yourself and no ones around to see your signal... still stay in your damn lane and signal
These are starting to pop-up everywhere here in Mississippi. Everyone seems to be able to comprehend them well.....They keep the traffic flowing; great idea!
Are roundabouts not common where you live? Because here where i live every intersection is rebuilt to roundabouts. They are really good for the traffic.
You're funny. I do this too.

This is not a traffic circle this is a roundabout. Traffic circles have a complete different set of rulles.
For one, people in a traffic circle actually have to give way to vehicles entering.

yes you have to signal you fool!! when you are getting into the circle you signal left, and when you leave it you signal right.
