  • Comment removed

  • Stevie Smith drives it now mainly in PA Posse events

  • This is music to my ear's Love the sound of Raw power like this!!

  • wait if they have no tanny or starter that means no torque convetor. how do they idle? i mean iv always thought they cant idle. this is a very cool video though looks like my hobby stock set up =]

  • they can idle in neutral, they just need to be push started in gear to get the cylinders firing.

  • @sanjostyle how do they have a neutral with no tranny? im not trying to hammer you im seriously wanting to know how. im trying to learn about how sprints run.

  • @pearsonbowhunter therea disengagement in the rears they have for neutral.

  • i want one

  • Steve Smith drives it now after Shepard got hurt at Knoxville in '08.

  • torque tube,bro!

  • most drivers.. pack the track to heat there engine.. then bring the car into the pits and put it in neutral let it idle and kill it, then put on a engine blanket to keep the motor hot for qualifying

  • Dont think they have neutral......

  • they probably have the same thing the supermodifieds here have, you can put the car in gear or out of gear but you cant acelerate from out of gear to in gear

  • WHO'S 410 SPRINT CAR IS THAT ?

  • It looks like the 1z Zemco Headers car back in Pennsylvania-New York area, that one time Billy Pauch drove. Not sure if that's the car or who drives it now.

  • good call on those 1z Zemco Headers man.

  • I believe the name said Jeff Shepard

  • Looks MAYBE like stevie smiths?

  • once you get the car pushed off in gear, he puts the car in neutral and thats how it idles

  • gave me a chubby

  • wait....? i thought they coulnt idle, i thought thats why they needed pushcars...? dont abuse me, this is just what i thought

  • yeah I understand what your saying. The cars you see here are running out of gear. They have no starters or transmissions. One speed direct drive to the rear witch has a solid axle. I appreciate your honest comment. Hard to come by these days.

  • oh, ok thanks

  • @jimbodepot Yup either in or out nothing else. Any of you fellas know a David Lucas or a Wayne Bennett that used to race out of manzanita and canyon speedway in az? David was my pops and just passed away be cool to talk to ppl he knew.

  • if you put them in nuetral and lightly press the gas they can idle

  • @speedwaysedan12 yep they have an in and out box..its either direct drive or idle

  • @junior17817 actually they dont use in and out boxes anymore the have a slider on the fron of the rear end that moves the the drive shaft in and out of the rear end . its controlled by a t handle normally located on the right of the driver seat next to his leg.

  • @jspeedracer11 yeah the driveshaft is always turning the RPM of the engine

  • Methanol

  • I thought Erdley used Rider engines?

  • my dad built the engine in that car that says lisi on the side his last name is lisi

  • thats awesome what company does he work for? his own?

  • This video doesn't do a sprint car justice. There is nothng better then the noise and the smell of racing fuel in this case methonal.

  • agreed

  • HELL YA

  • How did we go from our generation in love with the V8 open header sound to kids wanting the sound of lawn equipment coming out of their exhaust?

  • not sure. Id take open headers as my alarm clock any day.

  • @Hewey19 yeah especialy on some shitty camera back in 07....still shocked on the views for a video that was taken 5 years ago

  • Just for the engine? Wow. No wonder 305cid Limited Sprints are popular.

  • yeah dude. From what I herd those 305 cars were even more intense than the 410 outlaws, because of their weight. Small motor, smaller car, smaller everything.

  • They have stricter rules and are more evenly matched.

  • Yeah, the 305's are fun to watch, but they can't pull those front tires off the ground like a 410 can!

  • How much for the car turn key rolling chassis race race ready? $40 thousnd plus?

  • not sure for a whole rolling chassis. But I know a new motors run around 45 grand themselves.

  • what are those wires connecting on the exhaust manifold?

  • Spark Plug wires they connect to the spark plugs in the side of the heads they're routed under the Headers to keep them from burning through the wire insulation

  • red ones are spark plugs.... but if you're walking about the black ones... from the top.. those are the down nozzles.

  • That mostly looks like Pa. Dirt

  • yeah Williams Grove Speedway

  • The balck car is Mike Erdley and the red one is Todd Schaffer

  • This is at Williams Grove.

  • It used to be Billy Pauch's car.

  • havent seen power until you see a 410 sprint car idle along the track at 40 mph

  • dude this isnt a outlaw this is a PA posse guy.......his name is Jeff Sheppard

  • yes i know but the outlaws were running that night

  • Jeff used to be in the outlaws

  • im pretty sure that sounds wicked:) but a video taken with a digital camera and put you tube dosnt do em any justice

  • 100% right nothing compairs to 1ft away from 800hp pounding through your chest. those motors will hit 9000rpm out of gear befor you can blink at just a tap of the throttle

  • where is this at i saw 2 maybe 3 pa drivers

  • ohh so sexy!

  • ok, i'm moist now. luva me some 410"s
