I don't know what mudding hillbillys think when they relentlessly spin their tires like that! The coefficient of STATIC friction is much larger than KINETIC friction, so if they varied the gas peddle and tried to let the tires gain traction, they'd probably have the thing out faster. It's exactly how many traction control systems work and the EXACT idea behind ABS brakes! ABS pulses rapidly to let the tires gain traction and static friction do its thing! That's middle school physics!

@cpp1 didnt work the whole time he went slow. flooring it allows the tire to clean the lugs and dig farther creating more traction until more than half way up the tire. sooo yur statistic works on pavement where u spin tires and break traction but not here. keep quite and let up do what has worked for decades!

@cpp1 Thats great in theory, and works when there is a hard surface to bite into, but you need centrifical force ( you remember that from middle school physics right? ) to clear the mud out of the tread blocks so the blocks are clean and able to grab the soft mud on thier next rotation. Thats why once he floored it he made it out. Maybe if you left your pocket protector at home and took a rig out into the boonies for awhile you'd learn that.

Its a lifestyle, Wranglers are much more reliable off road than a truck is. They are lightweight too but can even rescue a bus because of their amazing four wheeling engineering.
