I remember hearing my dad sing this song when I was a kid....And I just realized that I ride a hopped up cycle and wear black denim trousers and motorcycle boots....I even wear a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back.....LOL.
Actor, entertainer, & later game show host Bert Convy was a member of The Cheers. This single charted in Billboard at a fairly high position, I believe. From 1955!
Great song! R.I.P. Bert Convy...July 23rd, 1933 - July 15th, 1991. You are beloved & are missed to this very day.
Anyone who wants this song. You can find it on Itunes on a cd called shut down. My father had the record and I found it on itunes not to long ago. This is one of the songs I loved from it.
@VinylNostalgia Have you ever heard of SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA? They're trying to stop us from putting up these kind of videos. Let's not let them get away with it.
I have a copy of this 45. It hangs up somewhere in the middle of playing it. Luckily I have the Shut Down album from 1963 (Capitol #T-1918), which is flawless. I have already burned the album to a CD-R, and have downloaded it to my computer. They also did the tune called Chicken, which is also included on the Shut Down album as well.

Bert Convy was born Bernard Whalen Costello -- it was not just the Jews that had to change their names.

This is cool. You can hear the stage being set for rock & roll. The drumming is quite interesting.

The Wynton Marsalis Quintet covered this on a live CD, released in 2010. Go figure.

Yes they are and if you read the article you will see that they recorded it in September 1955. I was 14 years old.
