try reinserting the r4 a couple of times If that does 'nt work make sure you have sandisk microsd card and not any other company Also some r4 flashcarts won 't support the latest  firmware files (i cud email to u the older files ) Make sure you have set your ds to run games automattically

dude i have the same prob but how i fix it is just turning it off tking it out and putting it back in......its the ds it doesnt read it so u have ta keep doing that till it works thats wat i do

What do I do if it can start up, but when I press "Game" or "Media" the top screen is black and on the bottom screen, all it says is "Game select"? It freezes after that, help me?

you go to your settings and you have to make sure that it says to start up automatically i had the same problem

Okay people this isn't a fake R4.

I realized a few several months ago that I had to use the Paper Folding Trick.

Hey my R4 Clicks at the bottom and people say that it means it's fake but it loads up like it should the only thing is that I don't have a micro sd card to prove if it will work or not but will it still work like a real one would?

Fake ones tend to have this metal line under the sticker.

Are you sure? because i got those updated R4 and usually i use a 2GB MicroSD chip but the updates you need a 4GB that's why my R4 wasnt working. If you have the newest one's check the back it'll be 4GB OR HIGHER .

hmmm mine bugs up like that when i overfill my sd card, i usually leave around 60mb of free space to prevent that. try deleteing a game or two.

the r4 probably uses the extra space (i think it actually does) for its own operating. It makes temporary files on the mem card not the DS Memory/RAM

Help!!! I am at my wits end! Same thing is happening to me. Just downloaded the Kernel 1.8 and can't open it, keeps going onto internet explorer. When I put the R4 into DS just saying "loading....." any ideas also?

hmm im guessing the files from the cd are bad becuz they dont even sell the cd with the r4 nemore u have to download the correct ones off the internet

yo. i have a video that will show you how to get the newest files for the ds. is your card less than two gigs? if its more than that is your problem because the r4 only supports 2 gigs or less...

I would send it back, it's probably just a faulty card, just be careful where you got it from, you might find its a fake r4 and requires different firmware? is the firmware on the disk the same as you downloaded?

Well, it isn't a fake R4 because it works on my friends DS. (I hate him.) And yes, I did put the files on the R4 from the disk.

hmm what u can do is checking the programs u should have like make sure u got the programs in the right place try doin it again this time fallowing instruction from the site as to know which files goes where o.o...umm if this doesnt work then i say return it or as the seller. normally R4 thing should start up right after u turn it on...so tehres no need to touch the screen when it starts..

i made sure all the files went to the correct place, and even if i did touch the screen it wouldnt still work. so technically it's pretty much useless. But yeah im gonna get it checked from where i got it.
