@preetmendiratta Alastor Moody (who was actually Barty Crouch Jr.) put an enchantment on the cup when he was patrolling the maze before the task started so it would lead to the graveyard as soon as someone touched it. He helped from the borders of the maze so Harry would get to it first (He's the one who put the Imperius Curse on Krum) Barty Crouch Jr. used polyjuice potion to turn into Moody so he could do the work for Voldemort to get Harry from inside Hogwarts, trusted by Dumbledore himself.
