  • As opposed to PR that brings in more and more skilled suit/out of suit actors that does some advanced kung fu choreography. I think a lot of you kids are just being pathetic having "Hey i researched enough to find out the origins of PR and they come from Sentai. So me liking Sentai more than PR makes me a better Tokusatsu fan than you." When in reality, Disney created tokusatsu that is better funded, better choreographed with better special effects than their sentai counterparts

  • @whsskdhkf I never seen kasey being leader for the JF. To me he didn't seem much to be a leader.

  • Basically 90 percent of the comments are about how Sentai is superior to PR. I am from Korea and 23 years old and I grew up with Sentai starting from Flashman and maskman during the late 80s. And I also do traditional chinese martial arts. and from MY perspectives, sentai stopped being cool after they stopped using actual kung fu/karate for morphing and fighting after Gaoranger. Even a martial art themed Sentai like Gekiranger is full of crap 1 min lines and silly dances with no actual kung fu

  • @whsskdhkf Isn't it kinda inappropriate for a show to use kung-fu when it has nothing to do with kung fu? For example, what would dinosaurs, policemen, Samurai, Angels, and Pirates be doing using kung-fu?

  • @Willy105 Goseiger for example, uses elemental powers. There are kungfu that represents different elements. And i'd expect policemen to use some closed quarter combat moves instead of coming out in a group and spend 2 minutes introducing themselves (SPD actually did have some well choreographed closed quarter combat). Pirates use Schimatars. And there are lots of good Schimitar styles out there. I'd expect dinosaurs to use at least something from Southern Fist to represent their fierce nature.

  • @Willy105 But the point is, that the older generation up to myself, actually had legitimate shows/movies that got people into martial arts. After all these actors and martial artists retired, the new thing that came out to get people into martial arts was the Power Rangers. The japanese themselves actually used Kyokujin Karate in Zyuranger to emphasize the fearsome nature of the dinosaurs and the US picked karate masters to reflect their japanese counter parts. This kept going up till gaoranger.

  • @Willy105 But now, Super Sentai no longer does that. It doesn't make kids become interested in learning something cool. Instead it's filled with 5 minute introductions and the way to promote their toys. Power Rangers on the other hand after Gaoranger, actually started to become really good using actual martail arts and good choreography in the show. I just don't like this "Hey i did my search and i am a better fan for liking sentai better than PR even though it's been shit after early 2000s"

  • @whsskdhkf Really? One of the worst things about Power Rangers are it's ridiculous and stupid fight scenes, with characters being thrown around dancing in mid air with explosions behind them. Not many would call that good choreography or 'cool', and neither would I.

However, Gokaiger has been doing amazing stuff, better than I have seen in any Super Sentai or Power Rangers series.

As for promoting toys, that is one thing about Sentai that has remained unchanged for 35 years.

  • @Willy105 Characters thrown around and explosion behind them goes same for PR's japanese counter parts. However observe the scenes when the suit actors are close together on the ground. There are some pretty good Qin-na, Fa-jing in them. I'm not Anti-sentai. I grew up watching Maskman and Flashman when I was 6 years old and I loved its sweet action scenes. Just saying after Gaoranger, even with martial art themed sentais such as Hurricanger and Gekiranger just doesn't have any authentic styles

  • @whsskdhkf There are very few scenes in Jungle Fury or any of the late 2000's PR that are as you described. Most of them are literally explosions with characters pulling dance moves in mid-air in front of them, which doesn't happen in modern Sentai (it did however happen in older 80s/90s series, but without the dance moves).

Not sure what the Korean dub was like, but Gekiranger was fantastic. Great show, and the action was very well done. It might not be true kung-fu, but it's fine.

  • @Willy105 There are. I think the scenes that you described with explosion and dance moves actually goes for Sentais. And I can't really argue with you if you just say "There aren't any scenes you described" because that way we'd be talking in circles. But to give you an example, Jungle Fury out of suit training scenes and their weapon skill sets are actually pretty legit while Gekirangers' was not. Dub was exactly the same, except for some of the missing episodes with japanese culture.

  • @Willy105 I just think after Gaoranger, Americans are doing much better job at putting some cool performing arts out there. Because Jungle Fury, I saw and I recognized their styles and skill sets immediately. Gekiranger, I watched while I was in Korea for the summer dubbed in Korean as "Power Ranger Wild Spirits". It was a complete joke. Cartwheels and summersaults and waving their arms about

  • @Willy105 But uhhh, i kinda got side tracked. But what i really wanna point out is that, Gekiranger is a Kung Fu themed sentai. Yet it doesn't use ANY kung fu at all for both fighting AND morphing. Just silly choreographed dances unlike its predecessor Dai Ranger. For example, the stomping and pounding fist on their palms as show in Dairanger and jungle fury is probably the most common move in all kung fu. such as Long fist, southern Fist, Chen Tai Chi, and Eagle Claw.

  • @whsskdhkf That might be true or not, but Gekiranger is considered one of the best of the decade due to how good it was. It is true that until Gokaiger, Sentai hasn't had much exciting fighting in a while. The reason Sentai is still so good is because the other parts of the show, like stories, music, etc. are still fantastic (and improved upon from older shows).

Gokaiger brought back fantastic action as well, even the Dairanger's choreography is back. You should check it out.

  • I have to say Gekiranger because one Jungle Fury Morph with those stupid ass Sunglasses,Then you have to over use of Explosions the word Ha ya and the slow motion matrix style crap.Oh then there is the bad acting lol oh and the over use of movements that look like crap.

  • Gekirangers wins this completely. Too many "Yaaahhhhhh" 's in the Jungle Fury's roll call. At least in Gekirangers' , they state their strength based on different aspect of martial arts and personality.

  • gekiranger roll call is better. The rangers' voices are cool and not violent like PRJF voices

  • Comment removed

  • That's not as bad as some PR rollcalls. At least they attempted a rollcall.

  • 0:27, was that Gigans roar?

  • HYAAAAHHHHHH!!! HYAAAHHHH!!!...

That's only thing that PR blurted out! sheesh! and that guy thinks this is mature! *facepalm

    GIMME A BREAK!

  • Jungle Fury needs to burn in the deepest pit of hell. I watched both Gekiranger and Jungle Fury and I to this day feel that Disney took a giant shit on Gekiranger when they made that god awful Jungle Fury garbage.

  • I am disappointed with the lack of the random explosion in the end of the Jungle Fury roll call.

  • ha.....ha....ha....ha lan a ha!!!!!!

  • Both seem pretty good to me.

  • gekiranger forever i watch it and it dosent seem like a kid show because its more like an action show gekiranger rock if you hate geki then you guys are morons geki got everything jf sure more rangers but they didnt mastered things that gekiranger have like ralittle bit of rinjuken in the final

  • I'm sorry, the Jungle Fury ranger just blew by in like 10 seconds, I'm sure kids like fast but this blew by faster than what Adrenaline junkies can take. Seriously, I don't know what the damn directors were thinking. It was like 1 person was screaming the entire time. I need to wax my eyeballs now.

  • Not trying to be immature here but in jungle fury didn't it sound like the chameleon lady said with the "cumming" of a chameleon. That is literally what it sounded like to me I'm sorry.

  • I wondered why they never called them the Violet and White Rangers instead of Wolf and Rhino...

What, the actor was too unsure of his masculinity to say 'Jungle Fury Violet Ranger?' Doesn't matter what color you are, boyo, as long as you kick ass.

Seriously.. so much rage against Jungle Fury.

  • I think I know why the Villains in PRJF Went Down....So they dont need to hear Such Generic Lines again...., In Overall the PRJF Rolecall wasnt THAT bad, But they seriously Needed Better Lines...

  • the story lines are way different as many things were cut away and not explained in PR version. the gay character is RJ in PR (good guy), while in SS is long (bad guy). the whole SS story, powers, habilities are much better and tunned up than PR. also like the versus chapters on SS Geki.vs.On and Bouken.vs.Geki

  • no idea what your talking they both were bad and became good. The gay character consider is better than all the characters in Jungle Fury in my opinion. In jungle fury the characters arent as good

  • I mean to say that i like better de japanesse version over the american one, becase the japanesse one explain more things and go more in depth with the story compared to the american one.

I was also pointing out that, though both of them has gay characters, or characters with gay manners, in the japanesse, the gay guy is bad (Long) while in the american version, the gay guy is good (RJ), or that's what i think overall...

  • @evilnitewing RJ isn't gay,he's just a druggie!

  • @evilnitewing The characters in PRJF are nowhere near as fleshed out as the JSG characters are. Then again, they had tons of writers due to that whole writers strike going on.

  • What would have made the American Version more intense would have been if the Spirit Rangers joined them. The Spirit Rangers had so much potential but wasn't used.

  • @TheAkatsuki10 what do you mean "if joined them"? you make it sound like they were competely destroyed. They joined after the masters that created them were rescued,i think after their first battle along side the rangers they were used once more. Could they have used them in final battle, maybe befor daishi aborbed most the spirit animals. After the tables turned in favor of the rangers daishi was already done for.

  • @RavenRX I mean like, it would have been more epic to me if all the rangers did an all-out finisher on Daishi, but I liked the ending

  • i like us version,cos the body white!look cool!

  • You mean that they are caucasians? Or that they are wearing their "Ka-Geki" suit?

  • its the roll call that makes SS a lot more cooler than PR...more evident in Gekiranger...Martial Artist often introduce themselves like what style they're using or which school they're from b4 fighting...not just gekiranger but all Sentai as well..

    besides, make things more epic..

  • in fact it sucks when it come to jarod and Camille Rollcall

    Too Much Yaaah Yahhh xD

    IMO

  • agreed

  • i dont agree thats childish I think its pretty cool

  • At least Sentai uses intelligent setences and words. Not just the generic bullshit kalish pr used.

  • Theres a difference between wanting to cut back for the necessary and just going straight into the fight. PRJF does this to go straight to the fighting which is far MORE childish than taking the time to do a proper roll call. The mere fact that the thing blew by in 30 seconds just screams that the directors were on speed. With the way they set it up, the roll call is very memorable and for a climax fight, it is more than necessary.

  • @hirokishinguji um how is pr mature ? i really dont see it

  • @darealpimpofdasouth Power Rangers is a children's show. The reason Jungle Fury's roll call is so slow and ridiculous is so that kids won't be bored by watching it.

  • gekiranger is the coolist

  • I say so too. Jungle fury story line isnt bad itself

  • The storyline for JF was okay even though it was drastically shortened due to the writer's strike that year.

If only they used long Roll Calls that made sense, it would have been much better. Or even if they had Justice Fist Vs Evil Fist, that would have worked as well.

  • ...how come the japenese versions make sound so much more epic? When I heard the american version... there was no energy to it.

  • American version put in very little or any energy into it. I would say they didn't really care about the rolecall, but this is one of the best Power Rangers in awhile.

  • i disargee with that, Jungle Fury SUCKED!

  • Geki owns, JF sux.

  • they were both good in my opinion
