people brings a whole different level of problems in terms of inspiration and just the getting things done aspect of the creative process.It can be really challenging. And when you lose somebody as important to the band as he was to them..frankly i am surprised they even tried to keep it going with the name INXS. BTW, i am not a fan of theirs, not my thing. Too pop for me. Anyway, i am just tryin to give ya some perspective. Like i said, when you lose somebody and also KEEP the name..its TOUGH.

Personally, I agree, and so do many INXS fans, INXS should have changed their name, instead of going on with their old name after Michael died. Especially now that they have had several new lead singers. They once went by the name "Farriss Brothers", perhaps they should have reverted back to that.
@TimmyGal I think it would relieve a lot of the pressure to be who they were when it is pretty clear that it is obviously not possible to be that band they once were. especially after trying with so many new singers. Ya know? on the other hand, giving up that name recognition after so many years of hard work and success, i can see why it would be hard. I mean we ARE talking about a pay cut here. Just changing that name alone means less gigs. So..i can understand why they wouldnt.

My long time drummer of about seven years left a bout a year ago, and i have written one song in that time and am just now starting to really pick my guitar back up after fourteen years of steady playing shows and writing songs.
