i know im supper late but @wildcat77..idk bout FAMU have the best arrangments..dnt get me wrong.they are def a great and very respectable bnd.but if i had to pick over all..i gotta go with the Legion..not just because i am Legion.. but when you really stop and listen to whats goin on in our songs..they are always more than just the melody and block chords,they always have color,never has bland moments and they always are made to best fit our band no matter what...in thats just my 2cents,lol

Ok, now my opinion might be a little biased because I'm a straight Legion Supporter but I think both shows were about even. BCU's sound was a bit fuller and that can probably be accredited to having more numbers than the Legion. On the flip side, they didn't really do a drill and there was a bit of overblowing and I'm pretty sure they had to dig deep into the playlist lol. For the Legion, yes, Hot Ice has some work to do but overall, the sound sound cleaner. Nonetheless, 2 great Programs! :)

Wat do y'all mean the legion did bad? Be specific and point out errors. We all have our opinions, so no one is wrong or right. To me, the legion won because of the drill. That was grade 6 music. Nsu did a real drill, they didn't play block chords while marching rotations, that's not a drill. Nsu was also more intense than bcu. Wat y'all think?

Swac style bands can't compare to the style of Famu or Cookman swac sound is like a huge stereo system with no equalizer Cookman & Famu music is arranged for both field & stage you can't play swac music on a concert stage everyone in attendance will have a serious hearing problem after the show

have always been a fan of BCU's Drum Majors. Honestly these bands have two different styles. They both turned in solid performances. NSU's Arrangements are more technical and really showcases the musicality level of its players. BCU with it's larger than life persona has a crowd pleasing format that caters to crowd response. I would love to see these two MEAC bands get together and get at the best two bands in the SWAC. Arrogance is shared by both programs. Both believe they're #1. Love it.

I have to say that I have been a fan of Norfolk ever since the first time they went to Honda for the first time. But you really can't come on here and say this is a quality performance trumpets really REALLY killed this for me they were coming in at wrong parts at a consistent basis and the notes were just not there. The thing about BCU is that we have a brand that is always upheld and while not all band fans appreciate it for what it is (and I'm not saying that we are the best by any stretch)

OK having watched both clips ... Bethune did what Bethune does. Note to the Announcer: You repeatedly let the band world know who really is the better band . Perhaps trying another approach because that's not working for ya bruh. As for The Spartan Legion... This was a high energy show from top to bottom. A lot of different looks. Realisticly I expect next year to see The Legion about 200 winds in the block alone. W / MDFS, H.I., S.G., Silks, Mr. Spartan & Capt'n Soul about 285. total.

I was at the event and they sound the same to me when they came to Howard so I dont know where the overcompensation thing because of BCU is coming from. The Legion has always been the type of band that will get aggressive in the spirit of battle.

Its a big difference in doing a "show" and doing a "drill". Doing a show would compose of EVERYTHING they did the last time they did the show, but yes they have done this drill before. I had to guess what songs BCU was playing(everyone around me was) and they bored me a little, but they sound was there. Boths bands had their highlights but I I liked Norfolk better. Everyone wants to be unbiased but never is.

Decent show....I thought the drill was okay. NSU was trying to compensate by overblowing. Don't change because you know BC is coming after you. BCU was the better band on this day. BCU at this moment is the most balanced band from all MEAC schools bar none.

@mgraves93...you are so right. Everytime BCC announcer said something, it was always directed to Norfolk. I heard they even said something in their field show about Norfolk @ Hampton and Norfolk was clearly not there. There focus should have been the HS kids, especially Kings Fork, but it didn't seem like it...SN: BCC only saw the last minute or so of Norfolk show, so I wouldn't say Norfolk was proving anything...they don't have too and Nothing was wrong with HI. Great job Legion.

Look at BCC show again and see who THEY were playing to according to their annoucer.... he dedicated most of his announcing to NSU.

This was a solid NSU show...you hear more upper brass and tuba rather than a balanced sound you hear from BCC. I dont know whats going on with Hot ice...though...dance routine was pretty decent too. NSU seem like they really was trying to prove something to BCC and BCC just did their thing without intimidation. I dont go to either school, but from looking at both clips and seeing both bands in person....I BCC is still the band to beat. My personal opinion.
