My grandparents were brought up in preston I know that my great gran was a knockerupper for the mills and my great grandad was a coal merchant with a horse and cart, they were still very poor, as it was the 1920,s and work was very hard to get. Yes they did wear clogs, but the children didnt have any shoes for a long time. People dont know theyre born, we have it so easy. Hope it lasts.
