I was initially not thrilled about CH4 on the the Diezel...
It compressed to the extent that it did not cut, nor did it have the attack of CH3. Diezel is the only company whose ethic is so great they modified my VH4. I was Lucky enpough to have Peter Diezel mod CH4 to the specifications you hear on the video. Can't say enough
about them!!! They insist on evolving , and the new ones sound as good as my 2003 VH4 with the mod.
The Herbert is more powerful and can sound bigger, but I would'nt trade
Channel 3 is great for lead, but I've have ch4 modded by Peter Diezel to sound like CH3 with more Gain, so I can have two different gains, volumes, and eq for leads. I wouldn't use CH4 for chords. Too much compression makes it sound narrow in a band mix. Channels 2,3,and 4 are great for lead. The Diezel is not forgiving if my chops aren't tight. If you're the kind of player who can sit with a guitar, unplugged, and cleanly execute, the VH4 is your best friend on stage.
This is bad-ass, the amp and the band.

I used channel 4 for the lead and channel 1 for cleans.

Ok thanks!!
How much was the mod?
belafarinrodisgod 2 years ago
The mod itself cost nothing at the time. Shipping
was another matter. I don't know if they still offer that.
I hope so.

This video shows that this amp isn't just dedicated to metal (although it's extremely good at that as well). It's very versatile.
Nice playing
