The German Workers Party was a thinly veiled as a populist party with a Democratic title. It was however an ultraconservative party which believed in a strong central government, religious centrality, anti-communist, anti-democratic. They renamed the party NSGWP to try to get the middle class involved in the party. I think you are ignorant to the basic definition of conservative and liberal as it pertains to a sliding scale of radical to reactionary ideologies.

To describe those polices under any name of conservatism is just completely wrong. The ideology of the party itself is known worldwide by historians and political scientists as "National Socialism"; which takes the proponent stance on collectivism, while modern conservatism opposes it. heavily and focuses more on the individual.

They weren't anti-socialist, they were anti-Marxist. I know that it could be taken as splitting hairs, but Marx's ideology rejected the notion of a state-run economy; a core belief of the Nazi Party.
I won't be able to answer your question on the polar opposite of Communism being Liberalism or Conservative because:
A)It'd be comparing apples to oranges. Socioeconomic structure vs political philosophy.
B)Liberalism and Conservatism are loosely defined and subdivided into other ideologies
