@100khuli Any fish is destructible, but the smaller ones tend to be more fragile. Cory's are pretty hardy (aside from the oddly fragile Panda Cory's), but they're bottom dwellers not too active. Barbs are a good hardy fish, lots of variety, active swimmers, Tiger Barbs being my favorite.
@Tim4sX cory's are actually pretty active for bottom dwellers and school with eachother. Danio's are known for their hardiness, and are often suggested as first fish for a new tank to help it cycle.
Take it they're gone now. My remaining Danio ( short fin) was bought exactly 3 years back, but I'm sure he/ she's soon to go : ( Already curves are showing on the gut which is a bad sign. Long fins are the best cool water trops i'm sure, but they eat their eggs so we need to watch out?
@nobabiesforyou yes they are. A good rule of thumb for keeping bettas is anything that is non aggressive and has no long tails. The dianos in this video are long fin dianos. you cannot keep these with bettas. But regular dianos are a favorite.
lol these ones r cool...they go perfect with neons....i got about 9 zebras but only 5 neons and theyre much happier if theyre in a school of at least 7 or soemthig.....nice vid....check out mine ;)
It is natural for Zebra Danios to pick on eachother like that because they are Semi-Aggressive fish. Where did you get your long fin danios? They are the most beautiful I have ever seen.
they are not semi aggressive at all. they are peaceful. They are just known to be fin nippers. To reduces the aggressiveness you need to keep them in schools of AT LEAST 6 the more the less aggressive
Zebra danios are actually peaceful community fish. They only chase each other because they are schooling fish, and that is their natural behaviour. The only way they pick on other fish is if you don't have enough zebra danios in a school, then they will be desperate for something similar to them to chase, and they will chase other fish.
they were just line bred to get the longer fins. and if you cross a long fin and a short fin danio, you will get all long fin since the gene is dominant.
I noticed that your fish are fighting alot. I just got some regular zebra danios and they're doing the same thing. do you know if thats normal?? I started with three fish and they werent getting along so I got another one and they're still doing it.?
PLEASE HELP: put 6 shortfins in a huge, well planted plastic tank august 20th. full of life, but today i see one keeps hiding, only coming out for food. water seems clean, filter going in this week. is it white spot? put treatment in today. HELP!

TTvsRP 1 year ago
@TTvsRP It's either a neon tetra or a cardinal tetra. Cardinals are a lot bigger, and I'm told hardier. South America.
Noodles37UK 1 year ago
@TTvsRP
May be a neon tetra.
FlowingDepths 11 months ago
@TTvsRP that's a neon tetra. A cardinal tetra has a red stripe that goes along the whole body.
